Hey ladies. I'm finally getting to a computer to fill you all in.
Short Version: Kelsey was born May 27th @ 6:27 pm weighing 6lbs 7oz and 19" long after almost 12 hours of labor.
Long Version: We went in Monday night, May 26th for to start cervidil induction. We had really been up in the air of whether or not this was the right decision since it was more of an elective due to mine and my drs anxiety to get her out safe and because of my multiple losses. We would find out later that we definitely made the right decision.
The cervidil didn't start contractions so pitocin was started around 7 am. I promised myself I would labor as long as possible since she had been sunny-side up and we needed her to turn. At about 1130, I had had enough and had them check me before I had the epi. Of course, I was only at 2 cm so I went for the epi. Around 4:00 or so, I was making good progress and at 7 cm. But her HR was dropping with every contraction. My dr decided to do an amnio fusion. Pretty much, they put fluid back in my sack to float her more which luckily worked. By around 6:15 or so it was time to push. The Dr had to be a practice push and told me to stop before she flew out.
After a good push or two, I needed a slight cut to keep her coming. Then her HR drastically dropped and we knew something was wrong. I pushed again and she didn't budge. Her HR was barely there on the monitors. The dr said, "Can I just go ahead and delivery her now?" To which of course I said, "Please get her out safely." One little tug with the vacuum revealed that she had the cord wrapped around her neck. He got that cut and with one more push, she was out but was barely responsive. She was whisked under the warmer and it seemed like forever before she cried. Once she did, we were in tears. We couldn't believe that this was the end of this part of the journey and that she was safe.
And without further adue....
