Husband with "second hand" Pregnancy Symptoms

Yeah, it's happening..for the past week or so he is nauseous in the morning, he's super emotional and even started crying watching the news and he has intense food cravings for olives and pickles Lol! Well, he's milking it and acts like a big baby, I put a cold cloth on his forehead and tell him things will get better..now if he could only inherit the labor pains! Does your husband/partner suffer from second hand pregger symptoms?

Re: Husband with "second hand" Pregnancy Symptoms

  • Not at all. Maybe has to do with if you suffer from any pregnancy symptoms or not?

I have no nausea, have only had a few emotional spurts (that are few and far between), and my only craving has been wanting mexican food. DH has been his usual self.

  • Oh my! My husband always says his stomach is upset (it's usually because he ate something crappy) when I say I don't feel well, and he always tries to make me think it's because of what I ate. I just told him, um no. My issues are legit baby, yours are just from McDonalds!

  • DH has been putting on weight since I've not been cooking much, which leads him to processed or fast food. He's a thin man to begin with, so I think a little weight on him isn't anything to be freaked out about, but he's terrified of gaining sympathy weight for the remainder of the pregnancy.

My first pregnancy, the only sympathy symptom was that he gained weight too. Ha

No, and that sounds really annoying. The only thing my H does is eat all my cravings with me.

  • oh hell no.  i know that they are a legit thing sometimes, but i would be seriously annoyed with the milking of it.  SO doesn't have this problem, or if he does, he's not letting on.

  • LOL!! :))  We joke that DH is pregnant too.  He's put on some weight around his belly and has cravings.

  • So funny... My DH felt worse than I did my entire last pregnancy, upset stomach, headaches, weight gain. My OB jokes he got all the symptoms for me. Unfortunately since I found out I was pregnant this time he has had his first two kidney stones so I have been the caregiver a few days. He is an awesome dad/husband and helps out tons with everything so I mainly just laugh at his "symptoms".
Although I have told him he should think about loosing some of the baby weight from last round now that we are at it again!

Im in my 8th week and husband has DEFINITELY been getting sympathy symptoms. He's Nauseas when I am... Etc. it's horribly annoying :)
  • My husband is actually reading a baby book that his mom bought him and he proudly told me the other day that his body is going through a whole bunch of changes too..... as I puked up the toothpaste while trying to brush my teeth.....  i almost socked him but he was just too damn funny about it.  Other than joking, though, he hasn't show any symptoms but his book tells him its a real possibility!
