I just did this for giggles too. It said girl, then boy, then another girl.
The Chinese gender chart said girl as well.

I think it's hysterical because I keep telling DH I wanted three kiddos.

Be interesting to see how true it is.

If a post warrants mean comments, I understand, but I'm still not comprehending why so many are so upset and irritated with what I initially wrote. It just seems like some of you like to be mean for no good reason....hence, the "hormonal blame game" seemed spot on to me.

I'm glad you posted about this. This test is one of the vague recollections I have from my mother's pregnancy with my brother (I was almost six when he was born). I always thought it would be fun to do. Never tried with dd but now I am going to ask DH if we can.

My point is if the remarks are snarky don't get so defensive. There are certain topics that will get certain reactions. I am a firm believer that my hormones are never an excuse, be it on TB or IRL, so it makes me frustrated when people make that excuse for themselves or others.

I had hormones before I got pregnant, why would I now get to use it as an excuse for my behavior/ choice of words.

I honestly jumped in mostly just because of the hormonal comment. I think the owt can be fun to try out as long as people are just having fun with it.

Yes...many, many times. The first time was years ago, probably in my early 20's before I was even with my first husband or thought about having kids. The latest was maybe a month ago. Every time it has been girl, boy, girl. And I've done other people multiple times, and they've always come out exactly the same way for them too.

My grandma told me about this when I was pregnant with my son. It came out the same then as when I did it today. Boy, Girl, Girl, Boy - I guess we shall see!

String test said girl then boy for me. I have a daughter already, and this is definitely our last kiddo, so I guess we'll see in 12ish week.

FWIW, Chinese "gender" chart says girl, so my odds are **surprisingly 50/50 at this point ha!

I do enjoy OWTs for fun until the anatomy scan. Thanks for sharing this one-- I didn't try it with DD. I hadn't heard of it!

My sister did the string test for kicks and giggles on me and my husband when we first got married. My result was one girl and my husband came back with two girls. Uhhhh???? Haha I'm not superstitious at all but we all got a good laugh from that

Chinese gender chart says girl for me too....gonna try the string test soon. I like a good laugh.

For me the Chinese gender chart says boy if you go by due date. But girl if you go by conception date.

Did I already say that?

For kicks I tried it. Girl, girl, girl, boy. I'm not hoping for four, but... I guess we'll see. :P It was cute.
