Totally went and bought the stuff to make slutty brownies - thanks @torilea for the recipe - going to be having those soon. Might even put on a "bakini" to eat them!
Me too! Making them today! So excited.
Also, I told DH they were for him....hahaha yeah right
In the oven - can't wait! DD1 (almost 2 yrs) got to sample her 1st Oreo. She's hooked.
Is it weird if I take a nap with my baby when I'm naked? I got out of the shower and he needed nursed then I laid down and don't want to move but also don't want to be creepy lol He's asleep, fully clothed. And 4 months old so he'll never know lol
Married 11/23/11, TTC starting 10/12, BFP#1 11/30/12, Adoption of stepson finalized 03/19/13,Loss of our daughter at 20w4d due to incompetent cervix 03/27/13, BFP#2 06/28/13, DS2 born 3/1/14.
Babies are not being very cooperative for this drive home. Our first stretch was a hour and a half before tears so we stopped to change and feed them. Now we've been back on the road for 45 min and Owen is crying again . Only 7 more hours of driving to go. This is going to be a long night.
Speaking of recipes, anyone have a good one for sangria?

I have one that's not bad and easy to make. Boil 1 cup water with 1-2 orange slices and thin apple slices. Add 1 cup sugar and stir until it dissolves. Combine entire mixture with your choice of red wine (I usually use yellow tail merlot). Add your choice of cut up fruit, chill, and enjoy.
Ummm... You were two minutes late punching on Tuesday and Friday?!?! SH!t is gonna hit the fan on that!
@WisconsinCheese12 You're so cute...and young. Nothing wrong with the hair. It's just new so you HAVE to hate it. It will grow on ya. Lol. ...'grow' on ya.
Pretty disappointed. Discharged at about 4pm. Although I guess the ct scan ruled out any additional tunnels. They think the nerve endings are just irritated. It's so painful I'm getting depressed.
Now I'm paranoid. I feel a tiny bit feverish.. Like a tiny tiny bit. So I'm taking my temp... It went from 97.4 to 98.2 in about 10 min. Now it's just 98. My body is torturing me.
I've got to stop whining about this... It's clearly not helping/making a difference.
@SomersIsles you're so NOT whining. You're going through legitimate shit. You can always vent here. I can't imagine your pain, but nerve endings waking up has to be a good sign in the long run, right? I hope so. And I hope you get relief soon, dear.
Re: tummy time, and really any other parenting choice, I always ask myself "what's the worst case scenario here, and how likely is it?"
With TT the only risk of not doing it assiduously seems to be that early gross motor development COULD be slightly delayed, and even if this was true (which I'm not convinced of) it puzzles me why this would be a big deal.
Kids develop at different rates anyway. Some kids walk earlier or later; some kids talk earlier or later. Short of tying them to a bed in a dark room, no otherwise typical kid will just NOT DEVELOP if not given 20 minutes/day of carefully supervised TT. I just don't get the point of all the fuss (when dealing with an otherwise healthy typical kid).
There's the flat head thing too, but in our case our kid is off his back for hours every day anyway, because we wear him. I am extremely skeptical that the extra 20 minutes of prescribed TT is going to act as an anti flat head elixir. And if he DID get a flat head......so? They usually go away just fine on their own.
Anyway. It's not like I am against ever putting my kid on his belly. I just do it when it occurs to me in the ordinary course of our play, and I don't worry about it or try to remember to do it every day or set a timer or anything like that. Sometimes it happens, more often it doesn't, whatever, I trust he'll still learn to walk one day.
@FarmBoysWife in the photo of your time sheet there is a comments section, what will you write for this week? My suggestion is "fuck this noise" but I like the f word probably too much.
@SomersIsles I'm so sorry you're in pain I can't even imagine! Hugs
@WisconsinCheese12 Love love love your hair! It's giving me courage to cut mine bc I've wanted to and been scared. And I've always wanted curls just like that! beautiful
@bandteacher the pic of the boys is soooooo cute!!
And for the slutty brownies I must make them for DH! He souls love them!
DS is super congested and we've tried the whole steam up the bathroom but it doesn't work and same with trying to suck it all out. Any advice?
Is the congestion all up in the sinuses or the chest too? Have you given saline drops in the nose with the suction? That's about the only other thing I can think of for the sinuses. If there is congestion down in the chest pat them firmly on the back with your hand cupped, like you would to burp them. That's what the nurses told me to do for Owen when he was in the hospital with RSV. I hope your LO feels better!
I made slutty brownies once. I don't know if I did something wrong or if I was just 'meh' about them. I have heard about trying them with peanut butter cups instead of Oreos. I still need to try that.
Jodi leaves today. We are driving him to the airport which means I might cry because airports are very emotional places for me (sad goodbyes to family). I have NEVER cried when he left for work but now we have Ryke and Jodi is sad to leave him, it makes it harder. So after today I will be back to my solo parent routine and be commenting on every thread every 4 minutes!!!

That was quick! Babies make time go by faster. hopefully his time away goes by fast for you.
It must have been a hair day yesterday because I cut mine as well! The first is before my hair was in a pony tail but you can kind of see how long it was (half way down my back) and the second was yesterday. I feel like a completely new person! @wisconsincheese12.. I love your new hair!!
Cute hair! I had mine cut yesterday too. I haven't taken any pictures yet, but it is short again just in time for summer.
It's our first anniversary today! We'll be going to lunch at one of our favorite places and taking our honeymoon baby with us (it's the type of place that has high chairs and a kid's menu)
Happy anniversaries! Hugs to @laura8388! I actually couldn't find this thread because I've always had to scroll forever down past the announcements!! It is gorgeous out today! I wish I had a boat to go out on! I need to get a kiddie pool. Has anyone used one for LO yet?
Getting a mani/pedi/mini massage this afternoon. I love this place. They don't have massage chairs, they have an actual masseuse. Neck & back massage while your feet soak. Then foot and lower leg massage. Comfy chairs and blankets. It is amazing.
I don't know if people are getting shittier, or if my depression is getting worse. But one of those two things is happening. At least I have my M14 ladies
