Can my confession be for my DH? Or just maybe that I think he's out of his mind... he came home with 11 fire extinguishers the other day. So, if the flames get too high on this thread today, I am prepared!
This might get some flames. I got my cat declawed (the front) a couple weeks ago. I know it is considered to be really bad for kitty, but he fights with our other kitty a lot and he doesn't have front claws (he was declawed 12 years ago when I didn't realize it's not good to do). I hated to do it, but it was either declaw, or rehome.
He's older and I didn't know anyone who wanted him, and I knew adult cats don't do well in shelters and couldn't stand to think of him being put down. He seems fine now, no complications and when it came down to declaw or put him down, I chose declaw.

I ordered more cloth diapers last night and I told DH I was done ordering for awhile and we should be good. As we were talking he asked if I had purchased more of the ones he likes (he really struggles with snaps) and started saying which ones from our stash he liked. I hadn't purchased any without snaps or the brand he liked so I promptly went online and bought more of the ones he likes even though I had just told him I wouldn't buy more.
I figure I am supporting him supporting my desire to cloth diaper.

My LO isn't getting enough tummy time! I'm such a hypocrite! I preach about how important it is, yet give in to his tears quickly!
We don't really do it either. He hates it and it makes me sad. Regardless, he can hold his head up just fine.
I'm guilty of this as well! When we do it, be just lays on one side or the other and doesn't lift his head. We get better tummy time when he's looking over my shoulder, or laying on my stomach!

Starting Fridays at 3pm my older boys are allowed to play Xbox as late as they want. They play online and play some Maybe not so great but not the worst games. They are both honor roll students and they don't get to really play any other time except for maybe an hour here or there. And I am damn proud of my 8year olds sniper abilities in his one game!
Yeah, I'm skeptical of how "good for them" tummy time is... There's no way making my kid cry like that is healthy! He fusses within sixty seconds of being put on his tummy. But we just make sure to spend a fair amount of time holding him and baby wearing! Like pp said, he can hold his head up fine!
Here is my confession.... I do not have facebook because DH will not let me. I got caught having a emotional relationship with my college sweetheart a year ago in Feb and was banned. I have since changed my #, deleted facebook, and gone to counseling to salvage my marriage. We decided a few months after all my efforts to ttc and got my beautiful son Hudson.

I have been faithful ever since.
No flames from me but kudos to you for being honest!
My boobs were a barely-B cup when I got pregnant and now are full Ds. I finally have boobs, for the first time in my life. My weird confession? I miss my small ta-ta's. I hate these things.
I miss my little boobs too! I went from a B to an F.

I was resistant from the get-go because the name is so F-ing dumb (silly reason, but god did that ridiculous name grate on my nerves!) and when Arthur turned out to hate it, I dug around a little.
I discovered Tummy Time has pretty much no research base whatsoever. People just thought it sounded like a good idea.
When we go out to dinner with my ILs or DHs grandma I purposely try to "schedule" LOs naps around that time. If he naps early on in the day I will keep him occupied for a long time by playing and singing so that by the time we have to leave he is tired and will sleep the whole time. Not because I don't want him awake while we are out (he normally does just fine) but because they are all so obsessed with him. Any time he opens his eyes DHs grandma practically yells "HIS EYES ARE OPEN!" and tells everyone to look. Or if I'm holding him she'll eat her food SUPER fast and say "I'm done so I can hold him now for you"... Normally it'd be a nice gesture but they are all just completely over the top. Almost to the point of smothering. She has made the comment before that he's always sleeping... Well he's actually not. Just when we go out with her! I can't stand all of the attention she draws to every outing. It's like she's never seen a baby before.
1) My husband says I go to Dunkin for coffee too much so today before I went to my dad's, I got myself a coffee and him some donuts. I paid in cash and drank it all before I got home, he will never know I went.
2) I plan on letting dd watch tv. It won't be an excessive amount, I want to take her out and do things but I know that I will not be able to keep her occupied all the time. I don't even know what will be around when she's old enough to watch and understand but I will balance it with some fun and some educational. That is my plan for now at least.
@bjd316 I totally have started doing this with DD. I'm sorry-I cannot live without it several times a day! Lol I mean- we RUN in it, right? MH hasn't said anything as of yet, but I know it's coming. (
Also, I let DD1 watch tv more than I have in the past. With DD2 now in the picture, sometimes it's all that will keep her preoccupied, or else she will do something spiteful if I am feeding the baby. Before DD2 came, it was much more limited but I do believe that TV has its place. I thank Yo Gabba Gabba for many of the social manners she has, Sesame Street for her awesome math skills, and the Wiggles for her love of singing and dancing. So, not all bad. >:D<
@FFwifey I think the New York Times reporting on a study published in a peer-reviewed journal is pretty reputable. The other is just a blog though for sure.
A's head isn't flat at all. I do wear him a lot, and he gets TONS of floor time, where he turns his head from side to side frequently. I don't see why it would get flat, and if it does, eh. He'll have hair.
ETA: We also don't have any baby "containers" other than a RnP, and he's never in his car seat unless we're actually literally driving---I wear him for all our errands.
So his awake time is either being held or lots and lots of kicking and wiggling on the floor. He's ahead on gross motor development at last check and when we do flip over to prone he's already working on pushing up with his arms, so...... I just am not worried at all.
I'm so passive aggressive that instead of confronting my BF for buying a new $800 computer when we have about $8000 in hospital bills from Maizey's birth. I want to smash it with a baseball bat!
Okay. I've got one that'll get me flamed. I HATE when people compare texting and driving, to drinking and driving. It's not the same. Yes, they're both dangerous, but when you're drunk, you're drunk 100% of the time. You don't look at your phone screen 100% of the time. I'm not defending texting and driving at all, I promise. I just hate the comparison.

But seriously, 11?
Wow, 11! He's more prepared than the fire dept
Does he know they expire? I think it's every 6 years or something. I have these images of around year 5 inviting some friends over for some fire extinguisher friendly competitions - target practice, pin the foam on the donkey...
Oh we know they expire They are expired from state buildings, so just recently expired. However, when our back property caught on fire last year, it made him want a bunch. He got them for $5 each! And the 2 we used in our fire before the brush truck got here were way expired (the previous owners left 1 when they moved and the other has been in his truck since high school) and worked just fine. At that price though, those games you mentioned sure sound fun!
Here's a pic of our back...
- on the subject from UO yesterday on hating your neighbors - they lined the fence line drinking beer and watched... not one of them called the fire dept or offered to help.
There is a microwave in the lactation room at work and there is a sign saying it is not for food usage. It is for sterilizing pump parts. I used it to warm up my coffee while pumping this morning. I figure I am the only pumping mom in the building of 300+ employees right now.

We rarely did tummy time with dd because she would lay with with her face flat on the floor screaming. The dr told me it's sooooo important and we should do it. I can tell you that currently my perfectly normal daughter does not walk around with her head resting on her chest due to insufficient neck muscles. She rolled, crawled and walked. All unaffected by her lack of tummy time.
LO is napping, I'm feeling very on edge today for some reason, and I'm seriously contemplating having a glass of wine...or 2....

When I read about the 'crazy', rule breaking things parents or grandparents suggest I don't think 'how did we ever survive?' Instead I think it shows that the 'rules' we are told to go by now are just total overkill....and it's obvious BECAUSE we all not only survived, but thrived even though we belly slept, had rice cereal, and ate cake at 3 months (exaggeration for effect). If you follow everything that is recommended you may as well lock yourself in a sterile bubble during pregnancy, then pop your kid in that bubble once they are born cause, if not, they are pretty much fucked.
Another...I'm irrationally irritated at the Victoria's Secret swimsuit ad that is right next to my text box on here. That scrawny bitch in her little bikini is pissing me off as I shovel chips and salsa into my mouth!

I'm the other way! I had little B cup boobs before, but now I have DDs and love them. You know why? They make my PP belly so much tinier! hahaha!

Thanks @bearsbearsbears it's not that I'm motivated but I'm a little too lazy to try and find a formula that would make the transition easy... Oh, and pumping is my only "alone" time as DH is training for an ironman and working full time. haha
Are we the same person? We have a dinner party in an hour and 10 minutes and my H just informed me that he has to run for the next hour. Thanks for the help buddy. So I'm hiding in my room pumping so he had to take care of the baby.
Confession: I need to print out the fb list or something. For most of the people it's almost like two separate groups of people to me because I have no idea who they are. :-S
Me too- very few do I know the correlation between TB and FB
With my first I was very much of the camp she would survive bc I did. Then I had Will and realized that he would not have survived. Heart defects weren't repaired in children with Down syndrome until fairly recently. All of the progressions and changes in recommendations have benefitted him greatly. Yes we survived but the recommendations are made bc some didn't.
My confession is I also skipped out on tummy time, and at our last appointment I was told LO was developing a flat spot. In order to avoid a molding device we are now doing tummy time every day, including the exercises she gave us, wearing her more, and I put a rolled up blanket on one side of her swing to encourage her to lay on the non flat side. I have done some research (aka google) that says that it normally corrects itself anyway.
My pedi actually told me at her two month appointment not to worry about doing it ( maybe he will suggest at our four month) Sloan seems to be very strong and he always comments that she is excelling in her strength which is awesome given how small she is. She has already rolled from belly to back, can lift her head when on belly ( but then promptly face plants and throws fit) . I do tummy time until she fusses then sit her up ( so maybe 2 min at most) she loves to sit! All I do is sit in front if her and hold her hands and she basically holds herself . I don't stress over how much TT she gets because a little bit if everything is the best IMO
I bought her these Carter's fleece jammies in newborn size, and they were the first thing she ever wore. My MIL had bought them in 3 month size, which she is starting to outgrow. I looked for them online in a larger size and they were on sale for $7.59, but they only had 4 and 7. So in 7 years, she has pajamas lol
