Kind Strangers

Today, I was reminded just how nice people can be. I went out to lunch with some other moms and their babies (6 moms, 6 babies). We went to a cafe that was not crowded (thankfully,  because we all had strollers). Once we got situated, we started talking and feeding our babies. An elderly couple walked by and commented on all of the babies. They were super nice and remarked that we reminded them of their daughters. They left and we continued with lunch. About a half an hour later, we went to pay and the waitress said that our check (+ tip) had been covered by the couple. It was over $70!  She said that seeing the babies in the restaurant brightened their day. I got teary-eyed because so often I get nervous about going out because I am always worried that something might go wrong or I might disturb someone. It was just an amazing experience that I will never forget and one that I hope to pay forward one day.

Anyone else have a great experience with strangers since having lo?

Love! I am totally going to do that some day. When my son was young I was standing in line at the grocery store and the man in front of me commented on how cute Caden was. No big deal, except once he left and I went to pay for my groceries the clerck told me the man had paid for my groceries in advanced. I even got to keep the change. That was pretty awesome because God knows I needed it at the time. That was about 11 years ago and before the whole pay it forward. I have done small things to pay it forward, but not a whole grocery bill. This post reminded me it is my turn to give back.

That is such a great story, a good reminder of how we all should act toward each other.

That is nice but am I the only one who can't get over the fact that you had 6 people and your tab was only $70 for lunch??? You must not live where I live
    :P
That was my thought too! Silly expensive ass DC area.

That's so sweet! There are some pretty decent people out there, unfortunately we don't hear about them as much as the not so decent ones.
    What a nice couple!

@beaubecca‌ Haha yeah...most of us just got sandwiches, so the bill wasn't too bad. But we also live in a low cost of living area. I always freak out at prices when I travel north!
