I wanted DH to do paper invitations, but he stalled so long that I wound up having to send out evites to give people what I felt was sufficient notice. I think it worked out fine, though we did have to have one phone-call invite for DH's grandma with no email.
We're having a small family gathering more than likely. B was born on July 5th so we'll probably have his birthday party on July 4th along with the July 4th celebrations. I live in a small town and we have a condo above a restaurant in the downtown area so we have fabulous seats for the fireworks over the lake that our patio faces. So...as much as it might be a small family gathering, it could also be a huge party because we usually end up with a lot of townie friends coming upstairs to watch the fireworks.
We did paper invites. I was too excited to not send out paper invites
since this will be our first birthday party in our new home. We are
first time homeowners.
Invites went in the mail last week! I designed invites and got them printed at Target photo. I considered saving money and doing electronic, but felt the need to mail them out. By designing myself and printing as photos, I cut down on the costs!
