Migraine vent

I know we have talked migraines and headaches to death but I'm not asking about them I'm just venting. I fell asleep with a migraine and then woke up at 4:30am with the same migraine. I've taken tylenol 3 , rubbed natural mentholated oils on my head, used a cold compress, taken a warm shower, and everything in between! If any of you STMs have experienced a "wet tap" epidural this is exactly what I'm feeling, the pressure and tension is so great I wish I could drill a hole in my head to relieve it. I'm almost 21 weeks , when will this end???!!!!! Sorry ladies I had to vent because I'm sure my husband is tired of hearing it.

Re: Migraine vent

  • I'm sorry you feel crappy!  Have you tried a little caffeine?

  • I'm so sorry. Have you tried adding a magnesium supplement? I did 3 weeks ago and *knock on wood* I haven't had a migraine in over 2 weeks. I also started adding a cup of coffee with the tylenol right away whenever I would have a migraine and that seemed to calm the last one down.
    Hope you feel better!
  • Yes, I had Dr. Pepper for breakfast. :(
  • No, I have not tried a magnesium supplement, I'll have to look into that.
  • Do you know what brings them on. Mine almost always involve sinus pressure and I eventually break down and take a Sudafed. I know it's not preferred, but the regular ones here and there are fine if your blood pressure is normal and you have no specific contraindications. One or two doses can make a world of difference.
  • Do you see a neurologist? I had several brain surgeries and suffer from migraines. Since getting pregnant, I am not able to get an of my regular treatments so my neurologist prescribed a combination of vitamins that works wonders.
  • I hope your feeling better very soon! Hugs!

  • Hope you get relief soon! Ive suffered with migraines so bad this pregnancy and the last. I havent had one now for a week and they seem to be getting farther apart. DR said that they *should* start going away soon that mostly they are a second tri thing. Thats how it was with my first too. Im 22 weeks so hoping maybe this is it.

    Good luck!
