Costco Formula

LO has been on the regular similac advance since day one and has done really well on it. I have heard that the ingredients in costco's brand of formula are very comparable to the similac advance, and have been debating whether or not to try it. Price wise it is just so much cheaper, and I'm wondering if he will do just as well on that. Anyone try it yet? Or know anyone who has used it?

Re: Costco Formula

  • We use the target brand that is similar to enfamil. My pediatrician said that it was fine. Since there are such strict standards they have to meet for formula, they are basically the same.

What rockopera said. My pedi said the same. We used Target brand when I had to switch DD to formula.

  • We use it!  It is great, lo loves it and yes contains FDA standards so we're good. Plus with it costing 1/2 or less the price o Enfamil....
  • Amazing! I'm going to try it this weekend... I was getting so many similac coupons, and target just had a sale last week that if you purchased 2 containers of similac, you get a $10 gift card back. So I was getting $20 off similac with all of the rebates! With the smokin deal I was getting, I do not want to pay full price now... Lol

Yep! Now I only buy enfamil if I can get it down to at least what the target brand costs with coupons and checks.

I did my research.  The ingredients are the same, there are three that are in different amounts, but I didn't find much of a reasoning for it.  Kirkland is made in the same factory as Similac.

So we switched and saw no difference.

Likewise, SAMs/walmart is like Enfamil and so much cheaper! DS does great on it ---if you have a SAMs membership, it's an even better deal than at walmart.
  • I don't know why my pedi said he doesn't recommend generic. However once my coupons/stash is used up, I'm going to switch.
