TTC After a Loss

TTCAL Weekly Check In 12/14

Welcome to TTCAL! This is a great thread to introduce yourself and jump into posting. If you get your BFP, don't forget to come back and update us!

1. Introduce yourself: (if you're new)

2. Status (WTO, TWW, Benched, etc)

3. GTKY: What is your favorite healthy snack?

Re: TTCAL Weekly Check In 12/14

  • 1. Introduce yourself: (if you're new)
I'm not really new, but since it's my first time starting the check in I will introduce myself.  I am 32, DH is 31.  We are TTC our first.  Our first pregnancy (in Sept) was ectopic, treated with methotrexate, and now I feel like I am just chronically benched.

    2. Status (WTO, TWW, Benched, etc)
Still benched.  Thought we would get the go-ahead from my OB today, but since my PCP diagnosed me with subclinical hypothyroidism, my OB now wants that treated before we try again so we have to wait at least another month (due to it potentially putting us at risk of a miscarriage).  While I'm happy to get that treated (because I don't want to go through another loss), I am frustrated because I thought we'd be trying after AF (who is expected next week).

    3. GTKY: What is your favorite healthy snack?
Almonds, apples, bananas.  But looking for more ideas!
  • 2. I am 3 DPO, this is our first cycle trying after D&C. I am antsy but fairly optimistic. Had a minor freakout when I realized DH had taken a long hot bath at the start of our TTC week.  It's so easy to worry about everything now.

    3. My favorite "healthy" snack would be dark chocolate covered almonds. That's healthy, right?!

@penelope4612 I'm sorry you're still benched, but glad you can get treated for they hypothyroidism. Waiting is hard.

  • 2. Benched, but more like NTNP until we see my OB at the end of the month. Last mc was natural and HCG was down to three two weeks ago and no one told me to wait a cycle, so I don't know.

    3. Healthy snack.... hmm... I struggle with healthy snacking. When I do reach for a healthy snack it's usually fruit.

    3. My healthy snack, vanilla yogurt with honey almond granola... And really any kind of raw veggie tomatoes, peas, carrots..yum yum
  • 2. Status: Month/Cycle: 7/6, CD 15 of our 3rd Femara + TI cycle.  I'm 1dpo today (triggered on Saturday morning).  Fingers crossed that this cycle is it!

    3. GTKY: What is your favorite healthy snack?  Usually cashews and greek yogurt.

    3. Favorite healthy snack would have to be grapes or apple slices, I have been a big fruit fan lately
  • 2. NTNP/WTO. I just finished my antibiotics yesterday. Today it looks like I am starting my FW but its hard to tell, my cycle has been weird this time around.

    3. Pistachios

  • 2. Week two of TWW, 9 DPO...I have super sore boobs and some nausea I set in yesterday afternoon and I have cramping as well...all could be AF symptoms...I'm goimg to try and wait until at least Wednesday before any testing, hopefully I can hold out!

    3. My favorite healthy snack is Greek yogurt with some quinoa granola! Super delish!!!
  • 2. WTO. 2nd cycle ttcal. AF arrived today. I didn't realize how much hope I had put in conceiving our first cycle back. It feels like it crushed my heart all over again. Which is probably mostly hormones.

    3. My favorite healthy snacks are banana and peanut butter
  • 1. Introduce yourself: (if you're new)  - I'm a new kid here. DH is 30 and I'm 27, TTC our first. We got our BFP on the Saturday after Thanksgiving, and we were very surprised considering it was our first try. Unfortunately, we then lost it about a week ago. Still really sad, but looking forward to getting back on it as soon as we can!

    2. Status (WTO, TWW, Benched, etc): Benched. My OB said I need to wait for AF before we try again. I've never looked forward to AF so bad in my life!

    3. GTKY: What is your favorite healthy snack? Wasabi peas....yum!!!
  • 1. Introduce yourself: (if you're new) 3 days post D&C for MMC

    2. Status (WTO, TWW, Benched, etc) I'm supposed to be benched until I'm seen Jan 8, 4 weeks post D&C but I really, really don't want to be and I'm seriously considering going for it at two weeks or when I ovulate, whichever happens later, which seems to be a more common waiting period, I wasn't far along, had no complications, and seem to have stopped cramping and bleeding. I hate to be that patient, but I really want to be pregnant and it's winter break and we have nothing better to do but HIO. Patience is not my strong suit.

    3. GTKY: What is your favorite healthy snack? Sweet potato fries.
  • 2. I'm WTO - hoping my temps stay high and confirm! I'm in a very good place right now mentally and I'm starting to be really happy with my body and my mind again, and that makes it easier to be positive about TTC.

    3. My favorite healthy snack are the small prepackaged Santa Fe Chicken salads from Walmart - they've got 1 1/2 cups ice burg lettuce, and 2 tablespoons measurements of chicken, cheese, corn and dressing. It's perfect and very filling for how small it is.

    Pregnancy Ticker

  • 2. Benched. I have my 2 week followup from my D&C on Monday. We meet with my new/old OB who I used to go to before she moved clinics on Tuesday. Current OB wants us to wait "a couple cycles". I'm planning on waiting 1 cycle, but now that the bleeding has stopped, I'm getting antsy. H wants us to wait one more cycle and we meet with an RE 1/11, so I can will probably wait until we get more info from that appt. My goal with seeing the RE is to get my hormone levels checked. I've been told I have polycystic ovaries and I'm losing hair and growing dark hair all over my body. My cycles had been completely regular for the 5 months I was off the pill, before TTC, and we got pregnant the first cycle, but I've heard some women with PCOS have no issues getting pregnant, but will miscarry instead. I'm also going to see if H and I can get genetic testing done now.

    3. I love apples and pumpkin seeds. I can eat them all day!

@FiancB I have no patience either. I just want to be pregnant again!! If I wasn't worried about the potentially higher risk (but do we even know that for sure?) of miscarrying again after D&C, H and I would be NTNP starting this weekend after our 2 week ban on sex is over. I'm trying to use this time to enjoy all the things that I can't enjoy pregnant like coffee, good wine, and sushi. I got pregnant really fast the first time and had a freak out about missing my favorite things. Now I'd do anything to not be able to enjoy them for 9 months straight. It's amazing how what seemed like a burden at the time is all I want now!
  • 1. I'm new to this board. I am 4 days out from my D&C. I went into my 12 week checkup last Wednesday and learned that my baby had stopped growing around 10.5 weeks. It was a shock after seeing/hearing a strong, healthy heartbeat at the 8-week appointment. Needless to say, I'm not sure I've even fully acknowledged what's happened. Yet here I am, ready to start over. That's how my husband and I are coping - looking to a brighter future. After we mutually decided to start trying again once I begin ovulating (and we've had the all clear from the OB), we've stopped crying so much. I definitely still have my triggers, and it's been less than a week since our dream was yanked from beneath our feet. But like I said, we're intent on moving forward. Hello all.

    2. Benched/WTO - Only 4 days out from D&C, so I don't expect to ovulate any time soon and will want to wait for my follow-up appointment with my OB before I feel physically comfortable TTC again. I'm going to continue living as though I am pregnant - no alcohol, taking prenatal vitamins, and going easy on the sweets. My plan is provide a just as healthy (if not a possibly healthier) environment for a second miracle.

    3. My favorite healthy snack would have to be apples and peanut butter. Separately, together, with other foods. All of it is perfection.
  • @chloe97 @FiancB - The night after my D&C, I had my husband bring home sushi!! I gave it up and will give it up again at the drop of a hat for the sake of my unborn child, but man. That stuff is good. And I know what you mean about giving up good foods while pregnant and feeling like it sucked. Now I'm definitely ready to give up my cold cuts, sushi, and whiskey (which I'm still shelving even though we're benched) for a H&H 9-month pregnancy. I've never been great on patience either, and I'm likewise tempted to go at it on the first O after D&C.
  • 2. Status: 12mo TTC/8mos TTCAL. Technically TWW but temp dropped below cover line so expecting AF today.. Feeling a little beat down about it, TBH.

    3. GTKY: What is your favorite healthy snack? I love carrots and spicy hummus! I can also put away quite a few tangerines in one sitting.
  • 12th Month TTC, 6 month (3rd cycle) TTCAL. Currently in the TWW. Either 15 or 12 DPO. My temps CD 24 & 25 were questionable (see chart) and since dropped on CD 26 wondering if that was actual O day. If only 12 DPO AF should be due tomorrow. Encouraged that I didn't see a big temp drop today as I did 12 DPO last cycle. Will plan to test Thurs morning if AF doesn't arrive before then.

Favorite healthy snack....veggies and hummus probably, or fruit.
  • 1. Introduce yourself: hi. My name is christie. I am 35 no kids. Found out baby wasn't viable last Wednesday (@10 w, measuring 7 w no hb). We were ttc for 2.5 years, so this was a pretty heartbreaking result.

    2. Status: Benched until I fully miscarry, hopefully naturally, and my cycles are back on track. So far I just wait....

    3. GTKY: What is your favorite healthy snack? Simple babaganoush. Roast eggplant and garlic. Blend with olive oil and salt and pepper. Mmmmmmm
  • 1. Introduce yourself: (if you're new) Ive mostly been lurking. I posted on another check in thread but I was late to it and not sure that anyone saw it anyway so I figured now that I think I'll be more active here I'll intro again. I'm 26/DH is 25. I'm American and he's Tanzanian and we live in Tanzania. I work at a home for orphaned and abandoned infants and toddlers. I had a natural MC at 9w in early dec.

    2. Status (WTO, TWW, Benched, etc) NTNP... I haven't had my first AF yet but we missed the intimacy.

    3. GTKY: What is your favorite healthy snack? Snacks are hard to come by here... hah. Fruit is probably my go to, or a handful of peanuts.

    Pregnancy Ticker

  • Hi all, I am WTO over the next few days. So excited this is my first "tracked" O and ttc cycle after mc. We are actively trying, having sex every other day. I have been temping so we will see. It would be a nice New Years gift.
I also have an update from my blood work due to 2 btb mmc at 10 wks: CD3 blood test show that my thyroid, blood clotting factors are all normal. I have another blood draw on CD21 to check progesterone levels. Karyotyope analysis results will come back soon also from my first blood draw. All in all, it's looking like the fetal abnormality caused my second mmc (and likely first) and that there may not be additional issues. But I will have the complete results by years end.

I haven't been eating very healthy lately, but I absolutely love tomatoes and fresh fruit juices-my DH got me a ninja blender and I love juicing in the morning!

I suppose we are in the TWW wait here, maybe more like NTNP. Still doing weekly acupuncture and trying to get my body as healthy as possible for a future pregnancy. I am in my 2nd cycle post-miscarriage, and really struggling with feeling pessimistic at the moment. I feel like I was doing so well emotionally and then all of a sudden, I've just gotten really blah about everything. Come in waves I guess.

    3. GTKY: What is your favorite healthy snack?
I love baked chick peas! I bake them with a little salt, so addictive!

Mmmm baked chick peas.  I feel like that's something I've heard about but never tried.  I'm going to add it to the list!
  • 2. So I'm either in the TWW or WTO. I had a positive OPK a couple of days ago. Long story short, my first AF after misoprostol was doubled in length - the first half being a normal period and the second half light spotting. I went to the dr thinking the spotting would never end to find I had a slight case of bacterial vaginosis that "could possibly" be responsible for the length of spotting time. So if that was actually the case, the positive OPK would be on time with my cycle pre-MC (I have a short cycle in which I O 4-5 days after AF ends). For my mental state's sake, in my mind I'm still WTO.

    3. I love the whole wheat blueberry figgy bars from Nature Box - I wish I could find something of the same quality in store. And cuties - I can put those bad boys away.
