Welp, my fingers hurt, I've used up a majority of my notebook space, copy and pasted myself to death, sent out a trillion msgs, broke my laptop charger, and my laptop is slowly dying. I'm so ready for this so, you all better VOTE! Lol less than 20mins left!

I just want to say I think it was really stupid that the nominations were only open during a holiday weekend. I didn't check in once because I was working a soccer tournament 2.5 hours from home for all three days., Honestly, I'm too busy with other things on a regular weekend to check in anyway. I also know there are plenty of people who are only able to check in during the week, so I feel like there were a lot of people who were excluded from providing nominations and opinions because this started on Saturday and closed Monday, again - on a holiday weekend.

Well feel free to create your own BMB awards then. Cuz I did what I could do at the time that was best for me to do it. Maybe it's just me but I think a majority of the ppl are happy with what we have now. And I'm pretty sure ppl wanted it ASAP. So, idk what to tell you.

ASAP? There's still a month that falls between May and July. I didn't even know people were talking about it. I like to consider myself a regular, but whatever.
It also didn't have to fall to you alone to accomplish this. I'm sure if someone asked if there were people interested you would have had plenty of help.

Yes, ASAP. We're due in July and half the ppl will be having babies pretty damn soon. Idk about you but when my baby comes, I'll be more focused on him than voting for awards. Also, as I said, this was the best time I had to actually sit down to
put this together.

And no, it didn't have to fall on myself alone but no one else offered to help. Also, I really wanted to be able to do this for these ladies and I did.

I realize you have a lot of people that are fine with it, but you also probably have people who are just unwilling to voice their thoughts once they show up after the nominations have already closed. Of course no one is going to dissent, have you seen what happens to alternative thought on these boards?

I know people agree with me. I can even tell you it's a number above 10. Just because you don't see it voiced here doesn't mean everyone 100% supports this and I'm the lone wolf.
I can also name another person who didn't consent to be in a category, but in this rush to get shit done, the name is still on there. I guarantee she was also too busy to respond in less than 48 hours to this.

I agree that it was silly to do it during a time when a lot of people were busy and not checking the board. I think we're all aware that a very large percentage, if not the majority, of people bump at work and would have given it more attention had they had today to finish nominations. I would have actually sent some in in that case. I don't think Bumpie of the Year was well represented at ALL. It was very rushed from start to finish, but as it's all for fun and games in the end, I'm probably not going to GBCB over it

Agreed. Weekends are always much slower, and then compound that with a 3 day holiday weekend where almost everyone either goes away, throws a bbq or attends a bbq and I'm sure there are way more people who would have participated than those who did actually participate.

I appreciate JensV taking the lead on this, but a Tues-Wed 24 hour period would have made a lot more logical sense.

Aside from you and Im sure, your wife, why didn't anyone say anything about it being too soon?

And @aliletz‌, you were one of the ppl who agreed that the voting be done on Tuesday. So why didn't you say anything about it being rushed?

@jensavicci I actually meant that nominations should close on Tuesday. Why would it matter if I had to vote from an ipad? I meant typing out the noms. By the time I came back, you'd already announced the timeline.

I think the excitement go the best of some people and adrenaline/excitement took over for rational thought.

In the grand scheme of things, this isn't a big deal, and I think that's why no one really mentioned it.

or perhaps... they didn't mention it because it was a holiday weekend and THEY WEREN'T CHECKING INTO THE BUMP WHILE THEY WERE WITH IRL FRIENDS AND FAMILY.

First off, thank your @Jensavicci for putting it together. I know it was a big pain in the butt and took a lot of time. I'm very appreciative that you took it on because I know I wouldn't have. Luckily I was home and sick most of the weekend so this time frame worked out quite well for me, BUT I do agree with @uws22 on the limited timeframe. It was pretty rushed. Had I had plans this holiday weekend I wouldn't have been able to partake in the nominations and I would have been bummed.

This isn't to one specific person but, to the ppl I PMed last night who responsed back as well as the ppl love titting and commenting on the this thread who had a problem with the timing of this voting, why wouldn't you just tell me that it was too soon? Even if I had changed the votinv time to Tuesday, I would have listened and changed it back to a later date. Idk if you guys noticed but I changed the OP about a million times last night and the night before to suit all of your requests. I would have gladly changed it again to suit more requests. Not to mention my damn laptop issues which made me rush through this thing more than you know. I myself, would have liked another day. But, ppl love titted my "change to Tuesday comment" and apparently I misunderstood @aliletz‌ 's comment about changing to Tuesday so, I went with the feedback I had.

Honestly, I get how much work goes into something like this, but I spend a shitton of time here and thought I'd get a chance to nominate folks also (like, Alygoo for bumpie of the year/most real/awesome in general).

I don't check in that much on weekends, especially last weekend (I worked a wedding one day, attended a wedding one day, and did house stuff with DH the third day). There are a lot of us who are usually only around during the week... soooo.... by the time I even saw I was nominated, the ballots were already out... I know I didn't write back (of course, I would never say no to being nominated, even to being BSC) before it happened, but (obviously) not everyone wants to be like me (although, I'm not sure why).

Then again, I also feel like any category that only had 2 options, should have been cut. Where's the fun in that?!?

I apologize for this. It was convenient for me because of my schedule this weekend so I didn't think anything of it. I'm just trying to say that I understand where those who felt left out, because of the limited timeframe, are coming from.

Either way it's supposed to be a fun silly thing. Would it have been nice to have more time? Sure. Would I have been willing to step up to the plate and add one more thing to my to do list? Hell no. I guess for me, it's just awards on the internet and not to be taken too seriously.

Like someone mentioned above, it was a holiday weekend and a lot of us were busy with real life stuff. Not worth it to get into a bump battle during a precious long weekend.

I'm not referring to ppl who were very obviously not online. I'm fully aware that they didn't have time to nominate or vote. I'm talking about the ppl who WERE online msging me, commenting on this thread and love titting the hell out of things. If they had a problem with the time frame, they should have taken the time to make me aware of that problem. I'm sorry not everyone got a chance to nominate but I did what I could with the feedback I received.
