January 2015 Moms

BFP!!!

Had 3 BFPs yesterday!!! Husbands more excited now but thought I was joking and told everyone he was with!! Confirmed with doc at urgent care. I am guessing I'm only 3-4 weeks along won't know for sure til I make OB appointment but they are all closed today for holiday! If my calculations are right I'll be due at the end of January :) super super super excited!
I want to tell people but I'm afraid it's too soon. Also having cramping and gassiness. Is this normal?
This will be our first baby so brand new to all of it :)

Have you all told anyone yet?? I'm wondering if I should wait til 6 weeks?
  • Congrats! Yes very normal symptoms. I'm 4w4d and just found out a couple days ago as well. I told my husband and we decided to wait until 8 or 10 weeks to tell anyone else, primarily bc we had a loss 9 months ago and want to tell ppl when the chances are lower than something might happen. The wait is killer though!

I agree with others that going to Urgent Care was a waste of time and money. Please realize many first OB appointments aren't until you're 8-12 weeks. Please be patient with what your doctor's office suggests.

    Congrats on your pregnancy.

  • Congrats, but please explain why you felt the need to go to urgent care? Not only was it unnecessary, it was a waste of their time and resources.

I don't understand why everyone is so rude I have been trying to get pregnant for a while and didn't find the bump board til a week ago. I've been nothing but attacked by rude comments on all of these boards. We should be bringing each other up not knocking each other down. I'm so over this shit. Everyone here is a bunch of rude old Betty's go fuck yourself for ruining my happiness you old bag.

What everyone has been trying to tell you is that you already had your answer when you took the tests at home. Urgent care cannot do anymore than what you did in the privacy of your own bathroom (or dandelion field).

Babies are expensive. Don't waste all your money on unnecessary hospital visits.

I truly didn't even know that was a thing. People really go to to urgent care to confirm their pregnancy?? Whatever happened to the health dept or an OB?

I'm excited too. Actually, I think we are all excited, but we aren't going to urgent care. Had you done an inkling of research, you would have learned that most prenatal physicians don't see patients until 6-8 weeks. Perhaps you should have bought some baby books instead of wasting a hundred bucks on an urgent care copay.

  • Wow. Just wow. People like you are the reason I had to wait 4 long hours at the hospital in severe pain, blacking out, and vomiting. Waste of everyone's time going to urgent care. Congrats on your pregnancy...and on being an inconsiderate idiot.

    Psssst..... It's old Bitty.
An old Betty is an attractive older women, which is not quite the insult I think you were going for.

Is it 'Biddy' or 'Bitty'? I've heard the phrase, but not sure on the sounding it out and never actually thought to look it up on Google.

Bitty And biddy can be used interchangeably. Betty is a whole different meaning

  • It's my personal opinion, that's all.I have a right to voice my opinion in whatever forum, I'm sure you do too however, I would never waste my time criticizing others and giving back handed compliments. Just stop.

Your personal opinion = bad medical advice. Would you want everyone to silently sit by while someone gave you bad medical advice or supported someone else's bad medical advice? I certainly hope not. Therefor, you probably do not actually want some of the knowledgeable ladies such as @MusicFanatic to just stop. However, if you are searching for a place that will welcome your bad advice may I suggest Baby Gaga or a similar site?
    @katnhiding :x  I miss you.

People come to the ER to see if they're pregnant bc they don't want to pay for a pregnancy test.
    wait a second.

I can get a pregnancy test at the dollar store for..... $1.

    My ER copay is $200.

    This wouldn't work for me.
    Stop being logical!
Right? It's not getting me very far.
