I use the handicap parking space at big stores (Walmart, target) if I'll be in for <10 min or my diaper bag is especially heavy. I think this might be more of a spark than a flame though</p>
This is disgusting to me. Unload your diaper bag. Quit being lazy.

Anytime I see a car without stickers parked in a handicap spot, I always wonder what kind of entitled prick would do such a thing. Now I know.
I probably should have come in a whole lot more low key...without trying to back peddle, I will mention that I do this on a very rare occasion, although after today I will scale that back to never again. Ellestaxx, I'm really very sorry about your granny's multiple breaks. It's not entitlement that I used these spots; I really did only if i was in a big time crunch. Scouts honor, no more (I was a brownie for 2 years so I'm not a lying jerk...just a jerk)

Im making it, barely. Huge hours are upon me. Its a close call.
Yeah, no. As an actual handicapped person that pissed me off. You can't be bothered to walk 30 extra feet or get a cart for your giant ass bag so I have to walk from the end of the goddamn lot with screaming pain? Awesome. How nice for you.
Even with my child, diaper bag and disability if I am not in active pain, I dont park in those spots and I am legally allowed to.
@skyla13 if you do decide to offer your UO/FFFC word them VERY carefully
Not sure why I missed this earlier but auuugghhhh!! This is precisely why I always end up typing, retyping and ultimately deleting my posts on here.
I don't know what "VERY carefully" means...I think the point is *i* think I'll be posting something that makes sense and while possibly unpopular, isn't offensive. But because you can't see my face or hear the tone of my voice it just becomes a scrabbled mess.
But, because I promised dknight I would, here it is. One of the things that crosses my mind that is probably an UO, but it bothers me when people make decisions about their religious/or lack of religious belief without giving an honest attempt to reading their religious text of choice, I.e. the Bible. I don't think we should make decisions about what we believe simply based on what a church or person says or how an organization acts. I have had people I know completely give up their faith based on the actions of people, throwing the Bible out the window, and it frustrates me. It isn't about what your pastor says, it's about what the Bible says and what YOU think it means. And I think that applies to any and all beliefs, not just Christianity. Don't let your beliefs be defined by fear or pressure or an urge to rebel or what someone THINKS. What do YOU think and what do YOU believe?
I hope that was worded carefully and that I made sense...
edit I just realized this should have probably been in the other thread, sorry bout that.

I thought that the people that park in the customers with children spot without kids in tow were bad.
I hope my 76 yr old Granny didn't need that spot, with her rheumatoid arthritis, she can barely walk on her bad days. Pretty shitty you think a heavy diaper bag is the same difference.
Andplusalso, no one goes into Walmart or Target and is out in less than ten minutes. Not with the lines at the stores around here, anyway.
I honestly feel so terrible. In these parts, about 3/4 of businesses have not replaced handicap parking spaces when the paint fades so when I said I used the spaces, these are the types I meant. I also would use the furthest ones and only if there were a lot open. These aren't excuses for my VERY poor choices and I'm not trying to back peddle. I think it's time to bow my head and back out of here quickly and quietly. I'm so sorry to all - here and those whose spaces I used
Am I the only one that leaves my diaper bag in the car? Why bring it with you. If rather change her out in my car then a dirty bathroom anyways.
Oh man, I never change her in the car! I did once, and she ended up peeing in it! I use the changing table in she store, but always put a pad thing down that gets washed when I get home.
Oh boy, if that happened to me. I would probably change in store as well. *knocking on wood* She hasn't peed while I change her; since she was 2 months old.

Umm, I think that's exactly what these are...each of your replies has been an excuse or a way to justify your actions, yet still say you're sorry and won't do it again. It's one or the other....
I realize I'm a day late, but let's face it, there's not much else going on here!

Way late but this has to be said: You, sir, are despicable!
(And yes, I use 'sir' because ma'am just doesn't convey the same feelingz.)
ALSO, and I see this way too often, if you are driving a big ass truck that I would need a ladder to climb up into? YOU ARE NOT THAT HANDICAPPED!!! I don't think every type of disability should warrant a sticker so you can park closer to the grocery store.
LC#'s I don't mind her posting. She can be helpful at times and drama llama feeding at others. Also she has stayed around after many flamings. But I would like to see a pic of her or her LO, to see if she's for real and not just FluffyHead!
Parking in the handicap zone!
I park there and run into any store I want! WHEN I have my 81 year old FIL who has lag braces and can barley walk is with me. So please quit parking there because your diaper bag is heavy.
As a matter of fact, if I recall correctly, I have posted exactly one picture of the awesomeness that is my kids. It was long before Formulagate and frankly I'm surprised one of the Bumpie Super Sleuths hasn't brought it up before.

I disagree here. My Mom owns a truck. It does not mean she isn't disabled. You don't have to be in a wheel chair to be disabled.

*stuck in box*
I agree. There are many disabilities where one could climb into and drive a truck but would have difficulty with long distances.
Props for finding it @psychdoc12, but no...I don't care
@atkizzle16 you are a disgusting excuse for a human being. You better clean up your act before your kids learn what you're doing, because we don't need your stupidity spreading.

No, no. You misunderstand. *Almost* monster wheel size trucks. I'm serious. I would literally need a ladder to get up. We have a truck, too. That's different. And I really didn't mean to offend!!

For the sake of argument, what if someone has a condition where they can't walk for a long distance (say COPD or another lung disorder) but they have no problem climbing a ladder. Or they are recovering from surgery or have some other temporary ailment that warrants a handicapped placard but they have the vehicle that they have. Or maybe the owner of the vehicle isn't handicapped but is giving a ride to someone who is. I think you don't really know the situation just because you know the vehicle.

Le sigh. Can't take back what I said. Plus, it's the first thought that
crosses my mind when I see a monster truck parked in a handicap spot. Sorry if I stepped on any toes with my thoughts...

I'm just playing devil's advocate I have no strong thoughts on the topic. I know what you were getting at.
Eh, I don't know where she lives but I've definitely been to a (insert big name retailer) where the spots are not freshly painted. Or where they have redesigned the parking lot and haphazardly painted over the spots and it becomes a little ambiguous.
Most of this board just doesn't accept apologies or let you clarify something you said. They would rather hate and demonize you than understand you or give you the benefit of the doubt. Trust me, I know. (Watch for ensuing gifs)
@Emilyusc211, I don't think it's stupid to give people some perspective. There is a difference between flame-worthy and hate-inspiring. Some people on here go way past flaming and get downright hateful. Love the sinner, hate the sin.
And it's ridiculous to not let someone apologize or defend themselves. As if none of these people have ever mis-spoken or been misunderstood. And I'd rather see these posts turn into an interesting discussion than a flogging.
Why aren't the people driving their elders around dropping them off at the door and parking in a normal spot so that a disabled person driving him/herself can have that spot? Is the crime less offensive if there are plenty of other spaces available? Would she be forgiven if all other handicap spots were vacant when she went in and came out (10 min later) such that more likely than not no space was "taken" from a disabled person? What about when the handicapped spots aren't actually closer to the door but are just closer to a ramp? Not all disabled persons have wheelchairs. What about handicap stalls in restrooms? Is it not equally egregious to make a disabled person wait to safely use the restroom? Food for thought.
