  • Nms at all, seems like a pet name.
  • Duncan Hines. But I've seen worse. The nickname Dunkin' Donuts might put me off. Could be the best name for a pastry chef ever.
  • Donuts.

Even though it's not spelled the same, it's the first thing I think of.

  • Aw, I like it

  • I like it. Worked for Veronica Mars, so ok with me.

Though I do agree that anyone named Duncan who lives in the Northeast runs a risk of being nicknamed "Donuts" by his friends.
  • Love Duncan!

nms. I agree with daisyblinks that it has a dorky vibe.

  • I love it, but I am biased: It is my Dad's name and our name for a boy, if we have one.

I LOVE it! It clashes horribly with our last name or I would have given it to DS 2 in a heartbeat.

I can't picture this name on a grown man for some reason.  There is nothing wrong with it, but it just seems like a cutesy little boy name to me.
  • I sort of think of it as a dog name too.  It's not bad though.  I don't really think Duncan Donuts is a big deal or a bad nickname.
  • It's just ok for me.

  • I like it. Totally legit Scottish name with a proud history. Unlike many Scottish names it is easy to pronounce for anyone unfamiliar with it and hard to get wrong. Don't let the nay-sayers get to you. If you like, use it! Especially if you have any ties to Scotland. :-)

  • I like it. I think of George R.R. Martin's Dunk and Egg books. They're prequels to the Ice and Fire series, and one of the main characters (Dunk) is named Ser Duncan the Tall. It's a positive association for me.

  • I am also reminded of Veronica Mars, so I like it.

  • It's such a strong Scottish name with a long history. It makes me think of literary figures too, so I guess my first thoughts when I hear this name are; smart, historic, and one very cute Australian guy I went to college with :)

I like it. Much better than the above suggested Declan and Deacon.

    Completely agree.

I first think of MacBeth and then Veronica Mars. I like it, go for it (and I've lived in New England where Dunkin Donuts are pretty much land marks and that isn't anywhere near a top association for me).
