I had to have a RCS so my birth story is not too interesting.
Me, the hubs, and DS arrived at the hospital around 5:30 am Friday morning (May 23rd). We were the first people there so I was immediately called back to get registered. After all the fun paperwork, we headed upstairs to L&D. They put us in a room, put in my IV, signed more paperwork, spoke with the anesthesiologist, and got prepped for surgery.
Doc came in at exactly 7:30 to take us back to the OR (husband and my mom were in the OR with me). Once in the OR I got the spinal (which worked awesome by the way) and not long after that they began the surgery.
About 20 minutes after surgery was performed our beautiful baby girl came out into this crazy world with a wonderful set of lungs. Audrey Jane was born at 8:12 am weighing 7 pounds 9 ounces and 19 1/4 inches long.
After they closed me up they realized they were missing a tool. They brought in the xray team from downstairs to make sure it wasn't in my belly. Thankfully it was not. Doc thinks the nurse miscounted in the first place because they never found the tool. My family was freaking out thinking something was wrong because I was in the OR for almost 2 hours (should have been closer to an hour) due to the missing tool situation.
After they made sure it wasn't inside of me, I was rolled out and my crazy Italian family was in the hall to greet us. Everyone fell in love with our sweet Audrey instantly. She's the first girl on both sides in more than 20 years.
Audrey is doing wonderful and I am recovering just fine. We should be heading home on Monday morning.
