Have you ever left the house while your baby was sleeping?

  • @JTA2426‌ we never had a monitor with Marnie. And we just have an audio monitor with Amanda because I can't hear her from the yard. I never really believed in them and ours is only in sporadic use. :)

  • Thanks for the support ladies!  I was actually afraid to come back to this thread!

Nah, you were looking after your dog. I can't flame you for that!

  • @JTA2426‌ and @thegoodpotato‌ I don't use our monitor very often but it gives me a piece of mind for when I do "think" I need it. I wasn't going to buy one either but I'm glad I did :)
  • I'm so jealous of all of you who can garden or go check the mail while your kid sleeps. So jealous.

Like when my kid finally sleeps in her pack n play I will probably frolic to the mail box. Not just walk, I will skip, hop, dance and frolic. I don't care if it's a Sunday.

DS requires me to sleep too.

  • ^ yep Haddock requires me in order to sleep too. I can usually put him in the PnP when I know he's REALLY asleep.
  • Nope. Just down the hall to the mailbox or something.

Anyone see Neighbors? Dh and I saw it last week and multiple times through the movie they go next doot at night and leave the baby sleeping in her room. They take the baby monitor with...but theyre partying. At the end I was like 8-| and me and dh discussed how unrealistic is was...the baby never woke up at night.

Nope. I can't really wrap my head around leaving a child at home. Alone. Sleeping or not.

A few years ago a woman here left her 4 kids in her apartment and went to the mall with her sister. In the middle of the day. The apartment burned down with all the kids inside. And all the aunt could say when they interviewed her was "thank goodness I remembered to grab my purse before I left." What???

Every time I think about going past my sidewalk I think about that.

Also... A girl who used to be a good friend of mine was doing that as well. Leaving the monitor with the neighbors across the apt complex. Apparently she eventually had the cops called on her because her toddler was out of bed and wandering around looking for her. Now I wonder how many times she left him and was out with me just saying that she left him with her mom or whatever. Ugh. How could I have been friends with someone who would do that?

It's a baby, not your pet cat.
I can barely leave the same room without something mind blowingly dangerous happening.
  • I answered yes because I take the trash out or check the mail that is one house away but that is it
  • I'm like most others, I'll go to the mail box at the end of the driveway, or take the trash out, but I'd never go off our property.  There are too many things that can go wrong in such a short period of time.  Sure, I'd love to run down the street to Walgreens, especially if Dh has been out of town all week, but I'd never never do it.  Too scary!  Now if my dog ran off, and A was down for the night, I would go after her.

I've walked down the hallway to the refuse room to throw out the trash or recycling, but that's it.
