Bleh. So, I thought the glucose test was bad at 28 weeks… that is NOTHING compared to 12 weeks. :-&
I had GD with DD so had to do an early 1 hour this time around. I drank that orange syrup on an empty stomach and just about lost it. I have bad nausea still, you'd think with all the technology today they'd figure out how to do this without inflicting cruel and unusual punishment on already sick and tired pregnant women!
I'm assuming the worst (that I have GD AGAIN) and hoping for the best! Anyone else doing an early glucose test?
UPDATE: Woo ho!! I passed with flying colors!! My last two 1 hours were WELL over the legal limit

but this one came back at 100!! Yayy! I will still have to do another one later in second tri, but I am really excited to be able to be GD free for now! Thanks for the kind words gals. Keep us updated with your own GTT results.

Re: glucose test today - UPDATED
I don't have to do the test (Type 1 diabetic so I already know my pancreas is an asshole). But it does not sound fun.
I REALLY hope I pass this time... with my last pregnancy I failed by 1 point and was diagnosed with GD... NOT FUN!!!
>:P
I had GD with DS. Diabetes went away after pregnancy but my fasting numbers were a few point above what is considered normal (below 100). Because of that I had to work with the perinatologist and have my numbers consistently controlled to the same level as during pregnancy (below 90 fasting & below 130 @ 1 hour) and get sign off from her before I was allowed to proceed with IVF. So this time around I won't ever have to take the GD test as my numbers were above the 90 before attempting to get pregnant. So been treating since before IVF. Lots of fun!!!! Good thing with the IVF though means there is no fear in the insulin needles so it was an easy decision to do insulin rather than the questionable in pregnancy glyburide.
Curious if your numbers were looked at before they cycled you or not. I thought it was a standard of care but heard from someone else that their glucose intolerance was ignored until 24 weeks which to me was very weird.

Diabeetus just made me think of my college roommate, who was a nutrition major. She once gave a presentation on T2 diabetes and
her closing line "remember you can DIA-BEAT-THIS." IDK why but it kills me.
Sorry irrelevant to the OP. That sounds horrid. FX on the test results.
My doc gave me choice of 3 flavors, I chose orange. (Doc said the lemon-lime was the worst.)
I have been feeling irrationally paranoid about getting GD. I am overweight and I have several family members with type 2. Plus, I feel like my bump is way huge for 16 weeks. I worry that I will fall down the omg you have gd, baby is too ginormous, you must have c-section before term rabbit hole. Again, I know I'm being paranoid but sometimes pregnant people be crazy....
THAT IS AWESOME!!!
I'm hoping for the same results next week when I go for my 3 hours test.
