For those who were hoping the other thread was about this and so we don't continue to hijack it.

The best part about being apart (more or less) is that we can share ideas without "stealing" them.

Like I mentioned in the previous thread, I have a few ideas I'm throwing around.

Paw Patrol : Joey's 1st Birthday PAWty!

Little Einsteins

Sports (baseball, we love the Detroit Tigers)

I love Pinterest and I wish I had a million dollars because I would #buyallthethings.

I'm not sure what theme we will go with for sure. I would like a good catch phrase for each and one that provides the most options. We will be getting a bounce house, I'm hoping to hire someone that will come dressed as a character from the theme we choose, and I will also be hiring a photographer.

I plan on going all out!

I decided on a "Little Golden book" theme 1st birthday. Will have vintage type toys/books around. Have old style candies, cupcakes. Fun retro games like ring toss, ducks in a pool. And of course everything will be based on a book (decor, food, games) etc. I'm soooooo excited!

I am doing a "one-derful" theme including all things that relate to A2. I might do "one-der-fall" but I'm scared that makes me look illiterate or like I am trying too hard. I am *obsessed* with chevron (A2's nursery has the grey and white chevron wall in my avatar) so they will be the main decor (plates, paper lanterns, invites). I will have kids paint mini pumpkins (since most guests will be A1's friends) and will serve a bunch of fun fall foods (candy/caramel apples, pumpkin bread, you get the gist of it). We call A2 "Ansley Claire Bear" so "goody bags" will be teddy bears.

The end of my novel.

I'm thinking Olivia the pig theme. All red, black and white. I wanted to do something she wouldn't select when she gets older. I think it'd be sweet. I imagine in coming years she'll want to pick favorite characters and stuff.

I was going to do "Olivia's Onederland"...obviously we have both pinned some of the same things!

I went all out for DS's first birthday and did an UNO theme. It wore me the hell out. Tessa's first birthday theme will probably be beer and cookies.

"Little Golden Book" is great because there are millions of them. The possibilities are endless.
My biggest challenge would be trying to focus the theme/decor in a way that wouldn't spiral out of control. This is why DH wanted me to commit to a theme.

Also, is Paw Patrol a TV show? I just like dogs.

We are also doing the "Little Man/Mustache" theme. I have found a website with matching everything including thank you's and invites. We are just going to do it at our house because our backyard is really big. A friend of mine is making his smash cake and then we will do mustache cookies and either a cookie cake or cupcakes.

I have a pinterest board full of stuff for his 1st birthday!

I haven't thought too much about it, but did come up with a foam finger for his one year pictures, so maybe will do a party around sports/fan fave type stuff. Make a bunch of little foam fingers to stick in the appetizers or do ring tosses with the fingers. hmm...

I've been having a hard time with this. I needed something to use as inspiration and found these invites that I liked. So I was thinking fall woodland creature theme and I can use the colors on the invite. Have pumpkins for the older kids to decorate and if I make the food myself do like chili, Mac n cheese, cornbread, etc

So far the plan is to do a "Curious Georgia" party.

Owls. Her baby book, calendar, and baby blanket are all owls. I only get to pick things for her for so long. Shes already got a big personality! I have a pinterest board for it and will edit it for each birthday. I have soooo many boards.

So many great ideas on here!

@awwwpuddin‌, I like that the confetti/polka dots can be made to look sophisticated too. I've also seen numbers (or a large number) stenciled onto a cake with sprinkles and I think that would look great with your inspiration pieces.

@FutureMrsFugattLarson‌, there is a great book called "I'm Not Sleepy" about a Sleepy baby owl that is really cute. It's one of DD1's favorites and we gave it to a neighbor who had an owl-themed party. Andplusalso, I've seen a lot of really cute homemade owl cupcakes.

One-der-Fall is both wonderful and possibly overdoing it. I can't decide. Tough Call.

We're doing "Carmen in ONE-derland"

Alice in Wonderland is one of the few Disney movies that DH actually likes, so I chose it knowing he'd go along with it. #DisneyFreak

I'm not really sure what we're going to do. I have a rose-shaped cupcake pan, so I figured I'd make a bunch of those and use a white glaze on some, and a red glaze on others. I have a bunch of decorating ideas, but it's going to depend on where we end up throwing the party and how many people we actually invite.

We live in DC, and there's a new Panda at the National Zoo. I told my DH that, as DD grows up, it will be fun to tell her Bao Bao is the same age as she is. He suggested a panda themed 1st bday. Wow. Maybe I do suck if DH is thinking about this more than I am!

Woo, you ladies are overachievers. I will probably think about planning a lot but not have time to actually Pinterest a party up. So a week before i'll panic and email invite everyone to the kid friendly beer garden. There will be huge beers in boots and happiness will abound. And I will be jealous of your parties.

@kellyk17‌, there is no shame in your game. We invite friends and neighbors to our kids' parties and there are plenty of beverages that are not kid-friendly.
It's a photo op. And I love projects and arts & crafts, so it is fun to plan. Starting 5 months early is about as much time as I need to plan, procrastinate, get distracted, plan again, back-up plan and execute.

@quartermisses‌, you may be joking, but I think you could pull off a really fun party with that theme.
