We have our appointment later today. About 10 days ago he was 19lbs 12 oz and 28.5 inches. He's really chunked up since then; after he got over his last cold/ear infection his appetite came back with a fury.
@cagoldi thanks for asking ! He is a lot better now. We are back to regular feedings and will probably go back to solids tomorrow. I got it this weekend and it is the worst illness I have ever had. My sister is convinced it was norovirus.

That sounds awful. I'm sorry you caught it. Glad Luke is doing well!
I think after 6 months their growth slows down just a bit. We also have to get a convertible carseat because he is almost too long for the infant one.
I think so too. But I also read that they should triple their birth weight by one year. O was a 10 pounder at birth, sooooo...................
A was born at 9lbs 6oz. Thank God I didn't go past my due date, he was born the day before. I hate to imagine how big he could have gotten if I went to 42 weeks. I also think he'll be close to 30 pounds by his first birthday. His hands are huge!
@cagoldi O was born at 38 weeks. Lol. I really truly hate to think how big he would have been if we waited till he was ready. I would have ended up on the news or some shit.
I'm confused how percentages work. DS was born Oct. 30th and had his 6 month wellness visit yesterday. This is what my doc wrote down. 17pounds12ounces (54%), and 26.5 inches tall (51%). Our babes are pretty close in weight so why are the percentages so off? Maybe they are a month apart in age?
DD was 19 lb, 8 oz at her four month appt, so I can only guess what she will be at her 6-mo on Thursday! I'm pretty sure we need to move her into a convertible car seat. I was hoping she would be better at sitting before making the transition so that she could sit in carts when we run errands!
We had our appt a bit early since we will be out of town when she turns 6 mo. But at nearly 6mo, Bianca is 16lb and 26in. I feel like she is so heavy but after reading all the previous posts, I see she is pretty small.
I did not pay attention to the length... I think the paper is in my purse, but it's in the other living room. Womp Womp.
90th % for height, 50th for weight, and 25th for head. It's funny how stable his stats have been, the only thing that ever varies is his height and he goes from 99th to 90th.
His nickname is Captain Baby Head, or CBH for short. I think the small head on a normal/big body is why he is physically ahead of the curve (i.e. has been crawling for a while, pulls up). I don't know what it is- lower center of gravity? or just not having to deal with a big, heavy noggin, but I think the two things may be related.
Henry will be 7 months tomorrow but at his 6 month appointment he weighed 14 lbs 8 oz and was 25.5 inches long. He is still very small (born at 36 weeks 3 days and 5lbs 14 oz but dropped to 5 lbs 4 oz) but since switching to formula he is back on his original curve!
My giant baby is off the charts all around - 29.75" and 21 lbs, 13 oz at his 6 month appt. According to the ped, he is the avg height of a 1 yr old. Guess I should expect this to continue since my husband is 6'8", but it's a little freaky, and my back is killing me!
Me: 35, DH: 34, Started TTC #1 since November '11
Several Clomid/Femara rounds, then fresh IVF September '12
Fresh IVF #1: chemical pregnancy, FET #1: ectopic, methotrexate
FET #2 resulted in our amazing baby boy Levi, born on 11/3/13 at 8 lbs, 5 oz. He is our everything!
We go on Thursday for her 6 month appt. I knew she was a big girl but seeing all these stats confirms it. I just weighed her at home and she's about 20-21lbs. Fat baby club!

*snip*
I wondered about this as well, but the opposite side. Miss Layla has a big head compared to body/length and she is no where near crawling or pulling up. I hope she grows into her head soon!
Had our 6 month check up this evening, still long and skinny at 16.25 lbs and almost 27 inches. Maybe 17 inches head circumference...I guess I should write these things down.
We just got home from our 6 month appt, although last Thursday was actually 6 months. 17.3 lbs, 71st percentile and 27.17", 90th percentile. She's now sleeping in my arms, it was so exhausting. Plus I want to love on her after shots.
@Sing2phins We were told no more night feedings and no picking him up anymore at his 6 month appointment.
If the kid is hungry, I will feed him regardless of what the pedi says. But we do try to shush and pat him and go from there. If he gets hysterical, we will pick him up. So far that hasn't happened.
21bs and 28 inch at 6 and a half months! My Pedi was impressed with his chunkyness He briefly asked us about sleep habits and said to try the pat soothe method vs picking up, but luckily he wasnt pushy. When we said we started picking up again because he got sick he agreed and said all bets are off when they are sick/ teething. I also thought it was funny he kind of skipped over the food questions with a comment of " well we obviously have no concerns there!" Haha
Madeline is 21lbs and 27in tall. She's in 12-18m clothes already. My pedi didnt say anything about our sleep habits, Mads wake 3-4 times a night to nurse, but we bed share so it doesn't bother me that she wakes. He pushed us more about solids than anything, because Mads has trouble with purees (she has dysmotility in her esophagus from her birth defect)... I give her small bites of whatever we're eating instead.

Now I know why people look at my baby with shock. He was 29.5 in and 20.5 lb at his FOUR mo appt. His pediatrician was also my husband's as a child so he isn't concerned. Dh is 6'8 and I am 6 ft so it's not a total shock that he's a big boy. However DH was wearing 5 year old clothes at 1 yr old, so dear god, I'm scared! I have to carry this little beast! His 6mo appointment isn't until the 4th of June, so I'll find out the updated stats then. For those with little babies, enjoy it. Your back is probably very glad!!!!
@cagoldi we were told the same thing. My ped did say if she wakes up after about 8 hours and wants a bottle she was fine with that, but if she's waking up earlier it probably is out of habit. We were instructed to feed her, change her if needed, and put her down immediately following without rocking her to sleep. Some nights she wakes up, so we do feed her, but she's had a few nights she shockingly made it all the way through.
Apparently we still win the peanut award. Our little girl weighed 13 lbs 11 oz and 25.5 inches long, head 40.5 cm at her 6 month appointment. (10th for all measurements). We have been going to a feeding clinic and recently added a GI doctor since she is the happiest peanut on the planet except when you try to feed her. Currently the theory is dairy allergy, and she started to get better about wanting to eat and then regressed so I am wondering if she has additional allergies (I know I am replacing dairy with soy and nuts, so maybe one of them). She was born at 38 weeks and was 7 lbs 3 oz, just growing has been slow, she didnt gain any weight during the entire month of april....
Ava's 6 month is a week shy of her turning 7 months. She's 19lbs9oz and 28 in long. Her head is 17.25. Not too bad. Her height is about the 95th %
Same here, Levi will be 1 1/2 week shy of 7 months then. Only because we chose to split up the shots. Kind of annoying running back and forth all the time but whatever ::shrug::
17 lbs. 1 oz. (40th percentile) 27 inches long (67th percentile)
18.1 inch head circ (99th percentile)
At 4 months he was only the 7th percentile for weight so I'm glad he finally gained. Explains why we had such terrible nights a few weeks ago (growth spurt!). And he's in the giant head club... that explains why he has very little interest in trying to sit up by himself.
Re: 6 month stats
head 45 cm
Length 30 inches
Weight 20lbs.
Looks like we are on track for a 30lb one year old..........
I feed the kid all the time, and all night long so I really don't understand how he's not 25 lbs by now
