I feel the same way. With DS, I waited until my baby shower to buy anything because I wanted to wait to see what I got there (people always give tons of baby clothes at showers) before going out and shopping. I'm glad I don't have to worry about a baby shower this time... there is no way I could wait until the baby shower with a girl. There are just too many cute things out there!

  • We're having a boy and I can't be expected to pass up everything! The good thing is that DH is just as bad as I am. But, we are trying to limit our purchases to clothing 9+ months since everyone loves to buy the newborn - 6 months for showers.
  • The butterflies outfit is cute. I am trying to hold back on buying stuff until the shower. Which might not happen until September.

  • I'm also jealous as I'm having my third boy. The clothes just aren't that cute (except the smallest sizes). But, I would be in serious debt if we had a girl. Lol. Our nursery will be gender neutral and lime green. It sounds like you're having fun with your little girl and she isn't even here yet :) Congratulations!

  • Yeah, guilty. I just spent $140 on Carter's/Oshkosh sale.

Their clothes are so stinking cute. I've cut myself off for now, but I'm hunting for 9+ month stuff when these summer sales hit.
  • My SO's cousin's wife is expecting a baby due in August and she decided not to find out what it was just for this reason. They have a boy already and she said that if she knew this baby is a girl she would probably spend more than she should on all the cute baby girl clothes.

  • HAHA This sounds like me! I'm lucky though--my mom is crazier than I am so everything I pick up to purchase she scoops out of my arms and says, "Her grandmother will buy that for her!" LOL I haven't bought anything yet!

  • Ross, Marshalls, and the Macys sales racks are loaded with AMAZING deals. I've been mixing sizes because I know she'll be living in onesies for the first few months. I would probably be the same way if I was having a boy, baby items are so little and cute!

  • Those shoes are soooo cute. My DH has been crazier than me with the shopping. Once we found out we were having a girl he got almost everything that said a Daddy's little girl, Daddys princess etc. I am so excited for girls clothes and accessories especially as she gets older.

  • Totally agree! Only thing is we live in Southern Cali (LA) and we never have seasons lol

  • I've been pretty good so far. I've only purchased one girl outfit from Carter's and it's probably the one she'll wear home from the hospital.

  • @TicketTuesday‌ here is my daughters coming home outfit :x

The little feet just make my heart gush!
  • I've been trying to satisfy the "gotta buy all the cute baby stuff, NOW! " urge by going to resale shops about once a month. Seems to be doing the trick and I've never spent more than $40. I'll also go and add a bunch of stuff to my registries, then delete it later.

The day after we found out it's a boy, I went online and filled a cart full of all the adorableness I could find. Then looked at the outrageous total and promptly closed that tab. It's seriously hard keeping a lid on this until after the shower.

  • @TicketTuesday There's no seasons where I live, just hot and warm, which makes it even harder :(

  • I have made myself promise to stick to one rule: never pay full price. And I do keep seasons in mind, too. Good call @Emerald27‌

It's so hard! And everything is summer right now.. that's helped me keep a little control.

@tickettuesday- My mother and I have a shopping problem so I love your thread idea. :)

We've done some serious shopping trips...here's a pic from a couple of weeks ago. This is only a portion of what we bought that weekend. Oops!

This is us too! We're waiting for all the summer stuff to go on sale and we'll pick up for next year. We were just there yesterday :)
If I was having  a girl, I probably wouldn't be able to stay away from the clothes either.

However, I will say that it's almost impossible to predict what their size will be during different seasons. So, for example, if you want to buy a cute summer outfit for "next summer," you can't just match her age next summer to the size. DS was always AT LEAST one full size larger than he "should" be for his age, so if I'd bought a lot of seasonal clothes in advance, he wouldn't have worn any of them.

@youngin12‌ I spy with my little brown eye a Carter's outfit with a heart, stripes, and burnt orange pants that I also purchased :\">

I was so mad that they only had it in 12mons. Oh well!
