Did you get melasma (aka "the mask of pregnancy") this pregnancy?

I wonder if people (such as myself...boo...) who get the linea nigra are also more prone to facial discoloration?

Eta: The "mask" is any darker discoloration such as brown spots, splotches, darker upper lip. Oh joy!

I have both...the linea is very light and the facial discoloration isn't very noticeable (I can cover with makeup easily) but still a bummer. Oh well--all in the name of a little bean!

No line but darker color above my lip.... Looks like I have a mustache sometimes. Good thing I'm a make up junkie and can cover it up. Had it with DD1 .... Went away like a week post partum

I didn't get the exact "mask," but I do have more brown spots, and these weird red spots on my face, and small pimple like bumps above my top lip. Oh, the glamour.

That's the dreaded "mask". It does go away after thank goodness!

I have two spots on my cheek that appeared during my first pregnancy. They have gotten darker this time around, DH noticed them a few months ago. It was kind of funny because they had been there for over a year at that point.

I don't have the linea nigra not did I get any additional discoloration.

I have a definite linea nigra. My mask isn't as noticible. Personally, I've noticed that my neck is a little darker. Also, DH said something aboutmy eyes looking darker. I'm not sure if that is lack of sleep or pregnancy mask.

I have the linea negra, but no mask. However, I have not been outside much at all since I've been pregnant. I've heard that sun exposure can make the mask worse.

No linea negra but I definitely have "the mask" it looks like I have a go-t, very sexy! Idk if anybody else has this but I also have dark spots on my underarms it looks so ugly I'm hoping it goes away soon!

I voted yes, but I only think I have it. It looks like I have more freckles so I'm assuming that's what it is because I haven't spent a lot of time in the sun.

I got the linea nigra line all 3 times, but never pregnancy mask. A family member had the mask though. Sh resembled a raccoon, and she hated it!

I have a VERY faint LN and have just noticed at 35w that my upper lip is slightly darker. I have been in the sun a few times with sunscreen. From now on I will def be wearing a hat though!
