Baby Bobby is here! **updated with birth story and photos!

We had out beautiful baby boy Bobby today at 4:26pm! 6 pounds 3 ounces and 18 adorable inches long! Will post pics and birth story soon :) He's so teeny and perfect!! Congrats mamas who had their babies yesterday and today! Its such an amazing and surreal experience!! XOXO

I was scheduled for cervical ripening at 6pm on 5/19 after a sudden scare with signs of preeclampsia and reduced fluid levels.  We arrived and were settled into our room and started Cervadil at 8pm.  The PLAN was to insert Cervadil, remove at 7am.  Take a shower, brush teeth, get comfortable and start Pitocin to induce around 9 am the following morning.  Around 1am I suddenly started having intense contractions and was dilated to 4! The Cervadil had put me into labor! The nurses didn’t want to start epidural just yet because they would have to remove Cervadil first.  So we waited it out a little longer, and boy was that not easy! They offered a pain medicine to numb the contractions, which I happily accepted at 2am. After another hour the contractions were so intense they pulled the Cervadil out, epi was administered and my water broke.

I was able to sleep for about 3 hours and at 7am my OB came in and was caught up on the progress.  From that point until 2:45pm was just waiting for contractions to get closer together and stronger.  And ladies who are using an epidural I felt NOTHING!  Especially after having unbelievably awful contractions earlier that morning, the epidural was a lifesaver! (props to those who chose natural.  There is no way I have the stamina for that!)

 At 2:45 I started pushing and by 4pm my OB was called in to deliver.  I pushed twice and he was out!  Beautiful baby boy 6 pounds 3 ounces and 18 inches long!
