I wasn't supposed to have my first doctor appointment for another week, but I started spotting this morning so I'll be going in this afternoon to make sure everything is okay. I know spotting can be a totally normal and nothing to worry about, but this being my first pregnancy I'm really worried. Please send good thoughts and prayers for good news my way today.
**Update**: The doctor did a pelvic exam during my visit yesterday afternoon and said that my cervix is still closed and that everything looked good. She emphasized to me that spotting and even some cramping can be normal for some women and that it doesn't necessarily mean a miscarriage. She ordered some blood work to check my levels and told me to come back in again for more blood work on Wednesday morning. I left feeling really relieved! But then last night I woke up with cramping (wasn't having any before) and the brownish blood had turned dark red with some clotting...not enough to fill a pad, but it was scary either way. I called this morning and they want me to come in again this afternoon for an u/s. My labs hadn't be reviewed yet when they returned my call so I'll find out my levels at my appointment this afternoon. After I got off the phone with the nurse I went to the bathroom and found a quarter size clot in my pad. So, once again, good thoughts and prayers for me today please!! I'm very nervous, but so happy that DH will be able to make today's appointment.

Most likely they will do a blood test, make you come in two days later and do another one to make sure your HCG levels are rising. If you're not having intense abdominal cramps and the bleeding isn't a lot or active, you are most likely fine...I'm keeping my fingers crossed, but just try to rest and stay stress-free!
Sending some good thoughts your way. FX that your appointment went well.

Unfortunately, the appointment did not go well this afternoon. My levels were only around 400. I had a vaginal u/s and it showed that the baby was moving down toward the cervix and that I've started to miscarry. My progesterone levels were too low to support the pregnancy so the doctor said that next time I get pregnant I'll need to call right away for a Rx. So sad to be leaving the Jan '15 mommy club, but looking forward to trying again just as soon as we can.
