@justAphase, your car situation reminds me of this time when a guy I was dating and I left a bar and ended up walking to his house because drunk. The next day, his car wasn't where he thought he had parked it, so after looking for it for a while, he decided it had been stolen, contacted the police, and filed a report. A day or so later, he found it like a block over, so he had to make an awkward "never mind" call to the police.

But the best part was that, about six months later he got pulled over, handcuffed, and put in the back of the police car for stealing his own car, because they had forgotten to take the stolen car report out of the system. He kept telling them to check the registration, but they kept saying, "Yeah, well, you can steal your own car."

So at least you didn't get arrested?
