The one where my nephew goes starts transitioning at 10 months so they are ready at 12 months to be in the big kid room. I don't see how, but they say all of them do it no problem.
My lo is starting Mother's Day Out in august, and she's supposed to be sleeping on a mat by then. I'm worried.
I could get the most determined to stay awake child to sleep on a mat during my day care days. Yet I can't get my own kid to even sleep in a crib. Wtf.
It's programmed into their DNA to defy us. DD naps better for my friends, baby sitters & cousins than for me. DS does too. It's just this fucked up joke that the universe plays on us.
Also, my toddler will eat better for H than me. It's this giant WTF.
Our DC has pnps in the one year old room, but a lot of my friends go to DCs where they are on mats by 18 months. It really is crazy what peer pressure will do, both good an bad, from an early age.
12 months at mine. The ones who have already transitioned in the twins' classes seem to do it just fine. It's the 1 nap a day at <1 year that I'm having issues with now.
Mine does these flat beds ( basically a mattress on the ground) and they sleep in a glass room, so they can still see everything.. ( Montessori daycare, supposedly this encourages their curiousity, and security ).. I thought for sure she would never fall asleep in there, but she naps better at daycare then at home, ( we started at 8 months)
Yep, daycare teachers have some special kind of voodoo. I was convinced DD would not stay and fall asleep on the cot, but at 12 mo they switch to the cot and she stayed and slept. Then daycare switched to mats and again she was fine. She stopped napping at home at 22 mo, but at 3 yrs 4 mo, she'll still nap at daycare. Go figure.
Our center moved from cribs to sleeping bags on the floor at 1 year. That was state law as well...no child under 1 year could sleep on the floor. Most kids did/do really well with the change. We did sometimes as parents if they could introduce the sleeping bag at home before they moved to the 1 year old room to help with the transition.
I wish the magic daycare voodoo worked for me at home

DD will eat pretty much anything MIL puts in front of her, me not so much. But MIL is an amazing cook.
