Finley's birth story

I went in for a planned NST on Thursday after suddenly having high BP at my appointment last Monday. They ran some blood work since I had a headache and my uric acid was up. I also had Hydronephrosis since 28 weeks so they felt like I needed to be induced then. I wasn't expecting it and there was still a lot that needed done. Had cytotec inserted at 5pm. Checked at 9 and my midwife felt it did all the ripening it was going to do. They didn't start pitocin at this point because I was contracting on my own. Around midnight, those stopped and pitocin was started. Slept pretty well that night. Midwife checked me at 8:30am and I was 3cm (up from 2 the night before). I was discouraged. She then broke my water and all hell broke loose. Contractions were terrible. Finally asked for a epidural around 10:30. It was put in pretty quickly but unfortunately it didn't work at all on my right leg or hip so all the pain was concentrated there. The nurse then put the foley in. Then she decided to check me post epidural and said she couldn't find any cervix. Another nurse checked too then they tell me "that means time to push!". I wanted my freaking epidural that I had for 10 minutes to be adjusted but they said we can't because it is time. All the pain was in my right hip for some reason. I started pushing at 11 and had him at 12:11. At one point, I had to stop and breathe through my contractions because my midwife wasn't there yet. I had a small episiotomy that required sutures which took a while. I had a couple scares of my baby's HR decelerating after getting Nubane (spelling?) and they had to turn the pitocin off. He also was decelerating at the end before I was checked but I think now that was because he was ready to come out and was sitting In the birth canal while we thought I was still like 4 cm. I am so grateful of how quickly I went from 3cm-10 and I had a very good experience and induction. I was terrified of a failed induction, but my experience had taught me a lot
