We agreed to enjoy at least one more summer just the two of us until I ran out of birth control pills early October. We were actively trying and conceived on the second cycle in December. I didn't even bother to figure out when I was ovulating. We were pleasantly surprised to get pregnant as quick as we did.
I got pregnant first month of trying and had a miscarriage at 8 weeks. The second time was with DS and that was 3 months after the miscarriage, first month of trying again. This time was the first month of trying again. I was temping and charting.
We Started trying for #2 when our son turned 2. He will be 12 when his sister finally gets here. After about 9 years of trying, we gave up. Early last year, I finally came to terms with only having one child and then got my surprise BFP a few days after Christmas.
Stopped BC around September and used condoms, then as a Christmas "present" to each other we tried Christmas night, though after that we decided to use condoms again til the end of January. But turned out to be beautifully pregnant, our little Christmas miracle!

So glad you were about to get your BFP!! We've always dreamed of having 3 or 4 kids, but with how hard it was conceiving #1, I'm not sure if we'll be able to give this LO siblings or not. I am just so thankful for this one! A year and a half was long for me, I can't even imagine 9 years so glad you got your miracle!
It took us one and half years to get pregnant. My cycles have always been on the longer side (35-40 days), but after a year of BCP and coming off them they became very irregular (like 60-90 days). I was charting, so I could identify that I was ovulating, but even so it wasn't happening for us.
I went to the OB/GYN exactly one month before my BFP, and test results showed high testosterone. She suspected PCOS, and put me on Metformin hoping to regulate my periods. I had only been on the Met two weeks when we conceived, so I don't believe it's to credit for our pregnancy. I got pregnant on what was my 6th cycle, so I'm assuming had I had more regular cycles we would have gotten pregnant much sooner.
I honestly didn't expect it when it happened due to how long we'd been trying without success and because the cycle we did conceive, I O'd on CD101 and had mid-cycle spotting a couple weeks before O.
Approx. 13 months before we got pregnant. I was on the depo shot and it took me going on provera to even get a cycle started again after 10 months, and clomid to get my body to ovulate again. 2nd cycle of clomid did the trick won't be going back on the shot or any form of bc that halts ovulating.... My body doesn't react well to it...

I won't be going back on BC either...had totally normal cycles before I went on and then after I stopped the pill, I had to take provera for almost every cycle to get it to start again. So annoying, and I wasn't ovulating anymore. Clomid didn't work for me so I'm glad to hear it worked for you!
With my daughter it took us just shy of a year (with 2 miscarriages during that time) and with this one it took us 2 months - go figure!
I should also add that with my daughter we were really trying - charting, taking my temp each morning, taking ovulation tests... with this one I didn't do any of that. Just stopped taking birth control and let nature run its course.

Long answer: After the PCOS dx and finding the chromosomal abnormality, we decided to try on our own for a bit to see if we could skip medical intervention. After 6 months, we decided it was time for the RE. I was monitored for one cycle and then started treatment. I got pregnant on our 5th IUI; we were only going to try one more before moving to IVF.

We started TTC before we initially planned because several members of my family have had a lot of trouble TTC and have had multiple miscarriages. Also, my in-laws are getting older and my FIL had a heart attack, and we wanted our kids to know their grandparents. We planned on 6 months to a year to get pregnant, and ended up getting pregnant the cycle of trying. (I have long cycles, so it took about 2.5 months) Turns out all the things that made us start trying sooner (literally, we planned to wait another 3-4 years, but decided that if my family history was any indication it could take us that long to either conceive, or decide on another route to having a baby if needed) were not an issue at all. However, it was a blessing for me to be able to tell my mom that I was expecting, it's a girl, and she would be named after her before she passed unexpectedly a few weeks ago. I guess everything really does happen for a reason
One week after birth control with DD. Still on birth control with DS. My body started rejecting the birth control and here we are total accident but a better blessing.
First pregnancy happened the first month of trying, MC at 10w. Almost 3 months exactly after my D&C I got my BFP with LO. No temping or anything, but I have extreamly regular cycles and get ovulation cramping so it's not a huge mystery when a good time to go at it is
It was over four years with current pregnancy. Horrible experience with first fertility try. Then got excellent insurance that covered 80% IUI treatments. Had two cycles, bam! preggo on the second one! Loved my fertility doc! Baby's going strong into 21w1d! At 20w u/s, baby boy was measuring 22w2 days!!
We were not planning, just if it happens it happens. I had a MC on Nov 2, 2013 and got preggo Dec 2, 2013. It just happened so fast, my body was just ready for this LO.
My husband and I decided to get off birth control the beginning of the year and what happens will happen. We got pregnant in June 2013 and miscarried August 2013. We were trying to recover from our lost and wasn't trying, two months later we received a BFP at the end of December. We conceived December 2nd.
We decided to start trying/"throw out the BC" while dancing at a concert in September. I texted my BFF the next day (on her birthday) that we were trying, and her baby born in December would hopefully have a playmate.
Late December after a crazy night at friends' wedding was when we conceived, and got the BFP when we got home from our NYE winery trip.
A few weeks after that, we had our first u/s and found out our EDD was 9/17, my BFF's bday and exactly a year after we stopped taking BC.
Stopped BC in Jan 2013, started charting July-August '13, had appt with infertility clinic Nov '13 for progesterone testing and DH got tested, received Clomid prescription, and was going to start taking in Jan '14, when I got my BFP.
We decided to stop preventing, but not actively try December 10th. January 9 was the positive pregnancy test. So less than 1 cycle for us. We thought it would take much longer because of how long I've been on BC - nearly 10 years, but apparently not.
When we finally agreed to start TTC, it took one cycle. But it was a bit of a surprise because based on previous cycles (that were temped and charted), I shouldn't have ovulated when I did. I didn't think it would happen that cycle because DH was sick when I should've ovulated and when we were planning on trying (he was sick on our cruise, which was a total bummer). I must have ovulated earlier than normal that cycle. Apparently this little girl was anxious to get here.
