Closing the NICU chapter after 119 days..

She's home!  Alex came home with a G-tube tonight.  She took her whole bottle at check out so no need to use it :D   Unfortunately she needed 20 ml through it at the first feeding at home and she is completely passed out for this one.  

In any case.. the new chapter starts.  Twins at home.. ~scared~

    Congratulations! What a happy day and start of a new journey.
    Married 8/2008. IVF with PGD March 2013.
    3/22 ER: 25R, 20M, 15F. 9 genetically normal, and 3 survived to Day 5
    3/27 ET: transferred 1 embryo, beta 9dp5dt=163, 12dp5dt=639
    4/25 1st ultrasound at 7 weeks = identical twins with heartbeats?!!!
    PPROM at 31w, delivery at 32 weeks of two beautiful girls

    Congratulations! I was both scared and happy when we took our twin girls home. I was used to relying on the NICU monitors to warn us when the girls breathing or heart rates dropped so I couldn't stop checking in on them when they slept at home.

    Thank you everyone <3  It has been almost a week and there were days when I was ready to take them back!  Of course, those moments were right after Alex had thrown up a bunch of a feeding with her multivitamin in it and Olivia was fussing about her change of pampered status to having to wait her turn.  lol  Ah well, every day gets better.. at least the ones without multiple doctors appointments ><  

    Oh, and the difference in scales is not nice to NICU moms :(   My pediatrician's scale measured Alex down almost a pound on Wednesday.. today she was back up that pound and more on one of the scales like the hospital uses.  Mean scale making me think that Alex wasn't getting her nutrition despite my best efforts!!
