Sorry if there is aready a post like this but I'm mobile and emotionally drained. If you have a baby in the NICU how are holding up? How are you coping with pumping so the NICU has a supply of milk and beast feeding while you get to be with her?

My daughter was born on Wednesday evening and due to my water breaking 23 hours prior to delivery she developed an infection in her lungs. She was admitted to the NICU yesterday morning and I have been on an emotional roller coaster since. The rational part of my brain is saying be thankful that the doctors caught it early and that she gets to come home healthy in seven days but the irrational part of my brain just keeps producing tears and feelings like I'm abandoning her and that I some how caused her to get sick.

    First off you have to tell yourself it's not your fault. My baby was in the nicu and I struggled with that as well. Pump in the room with your baby if you can. It helps emotionally. Ask your nurse if you can use a snoodle which is a little stuffed animal they have or anything rly that has your scent you can put in her warmer. Little things that help y'all bond when it feels like you can't. Having a baby in the nicu is sooooo hard. Lean on the loved ones you have and take it one day at a time. Hugs :)

    I hope that your baby is home safe and sound and in your arms soon.  There is no way that this is your fault.  Try to stay focused on the positive which is that your doctors have caught the infection early and that your baby is getting taken care of.  **Hugs**

    OP I'm in a similar situation! It's so hard but luckily like your babe our ds should be home before he's a week old!!!
