I think I have a clogged duct. It hurts when I touch it. I'm pumping so I'm trying to fix it.
Those do hurt like hell! I pumped, massages while nursing & pumping to help unclog, and also massaged while hot showering. For pain I would put ice an ice pack on that puppy! It definitely helped numb the pain!
@CruiseGirl28 I'd personally call my OB. But hopefully you can fix it on your own by Monday!!
@jt7dreamz I just felt engorged and no matter if my baby had just fed or not, that side would still feel full!
The last time I had one was when we had thrush. It started making it's comeback today and I already feel like I'm getting a clogged duct again. Eg—righty felt more full than lefty even though I had just fed on righty 1.5 hours ago. So I just let her nurse that side again to empty it out completely before we go long stretches overnight!
Ugh. DH and I ate fighting too. He wants lo to cry it out at two months (ask ten weeks) because as regressing. She used to sleep the night and now wakes up at 4. Our doc (TriBeCa pediatrics) actually suggests it at two months. It's dr Michel Cohen. I am torn and said I couldn't hear it. Thing is DH hasn't once woken up wih the baby. He's a heavy sleeper so not once in 8 weeks have I disturbed him. And honestly. I resent it. I have hired help most days which is great but I feel like he has no idea. Honestly I feel like he has no connection and doesn't care. Which I said. Which upset him. Cue insecurity and immaturity on his part.
Why are relationships hard. Ugh.
And fffc. If she sleeps through the night I will miss our quiet nursing time. I am so madly in love with her.
I completely believe that if one parent doesn't help with the nighttime stuff, then they don't get a say in sleep training.
Sorry, but that's a no go for me.
And for what it's worth, my husband hasn't gotten up with her once either.
I just spent 7 hours at a car dealership. With a baby.
There isn't enough wine in the world to fix this day.
This was us a few weeks ago. WHY does it take so loooong???
Four words, guys: financing already in place. You can be out the door in an hour and a half, including your test drive and price negotiations.
We didn't even have financing. We paid cash. Just took DH forever to make up his mind
You're my new hero. We are saving to pay cash for our next car...but we are only 1/2 there & I so want a new one NOW but mine is perfectly fine & I love not having car payments...

You rock! But seriously, I would lose my shit if my DH were so indecisive. I spend a ton if time scoping out cars online, so we always know exactly which car we're buying when we walk in the door -- before we even drive it!

DH and I went to a karaoke bar tonight while my sister watched the kids and I got up and sang "don't stop believin" by journey OMG. I'm so proud of myself.

My right side supply has tanked for some reason. Nothing has changed and idk what to do? At 8 weeks old today this seems strange. I have tried pumping more and having him nurse on that side more but it seems like less and less is coming out. I already drink at least 3 cups of mothers milk tea and eat oats and all of the other stuff. I went from having an awesome supply to not so much in about 3 days?
@LW78 could you include him by offering choices? That's what I do with my H because our tastes differ a bit and he wants to help. If I give him a choice of two or three we can discuss and he feels like he got to choose. ?

@WisconsinCheese12 Do you think you need a different size flange for one side? My left does better with a bigger flange than my right, doesn't pop off as often when I'm massaging and pumping.

This is what MH and I do, though with the roles reversed (he has a much better eye for aesthetics than I do). He comes up with the general plan and then gives me 2-3 options within that. Works really well for us!
Brooklyn hasn't pooped in two days. Wet diaper count, temp etc is normal so I'm not worried, but sweet Jesus I'm scared of what's going to come out when she finally does.

Is it ok that I'm laughing at you in advance? I'm kind of sadistic like that.
Can I just say I love trolls on Facebook yard sale sites? One guy just posted about needing aggressive roosters for home security purposes. Then continued to ask about their "winnings potentials" definitely brightened my Saturday morning!
I am currently nursing in the back of my van at DD's soccer game because LO refuses to take a bottle, even had my mom give it to her. And this seat is uncomfortable as hell. Who designs these things?
Channel my NIPing mojo and just nurse her out in the open! Doooo iiiiiit.
DS1 spent the night at my parents. They bought him new underwear. When I picked him up he dropped trou to show me his new undies. He was quite proud of them

I was just reading about this online - @WisconsinCheese12 your pump website should have more info.
Based on what medalas website described I might need a bigger flange size too. Going to pick up a paid today & see if they work better. It sounds like the "nipple should move freely" and mine expands taking up the whole tunnel & rubbing on all sides. So...sounds like its not moving freely right? Anyone else move up on size & how did you know you needed to?
I tried lots of medela flanges and hated them all. I got the pumpin pals and am totally in love. I EP so comfort is super important. My supply tanked for a day while my body got used to them but now my output is way better.
This is what you discover when out and about with baby.
THATS fucking awesome!
I thought it was so funny I took a picture before changing LO and he had a super poopy diaper.

Oh! S/O nursing at the lab, I forgot to bitch on here about this even though it was over 6 weeks ago now... I had to take LO to get a bilirubin level check and she needed to eat after it was done, so I asked the tech if I could stay in the room and nurse her. She told me no because they were busy and all the other rooms had "patient information in them" so I couldn't use those either. Ummm wtf ever. Where does she tell me I can go, you ask? The bathroom. Yeah. She offered to drag a chair into the bathroom for me so I could nurse my 5 day old baby in the germ infested room where people routinely go to piss in cups. How sweet, right? Let's not forget that this is the same lab that doesn't take drug tests seriously enough to not leave urine samples in the pass-through door and that's how I ended up "testing positive" for meth and opiates when I was first pregnant. Which led to a long two-month battle with DHS to close the case against me and I STILL have to try and get it cleared off my medical record.
That is still not resolved?!?? OMG. I confess, I thought about you every time I had to put my pee cup in the window at the OBs office. That shit is crazy.
When he offered the bathroom, I would have like to think I would have said "nope" and sat down right there and whipped out a boob. But I probably just would have muttered something under my breath as I walked out.

I remember that story. I was telling my mom about it when she came to an appointment with me.
I have also been offered the bathroom to nurse. I really wish I just sat in the lobby and did it. Wasn't ballsy enough. My pedi office has a breastfeeding room with gliders and everything.
@bjd316 I have a bachelorette party too. It's the 31st and an hour away. I'm gonna go for the 2 hour beginning part and then leave, citing the need to pump. (I cant imagine finding a place to pump in a strip club.) I dunno if you're bfing but if you are you could use that excuse. Or have DH text you that LO is fussy. Or that you had a terrible night sleep with LO. I hope it goes better than you expect! I feel your pain.
Re: The Randomest Thread
If it's not better by Monday I'm going to call my doctor. I'm not sure if it's infected.
Would you call your OB/GYN or your PCP? I can't even remember the last time I saw my PCP and I like my OB a lot more.

how about a shared pinterest board? When we moved and decorated that's what we did. That way he felt involved without actually bugging me.

So now I don't need to continue to wear my maternity jeans. Although, I probably will because they are kick ass comfortable.
At least its over with now
