My LO has struggled with reflux since she was born she is on two meds a day. She also gets horrible rashes. She has reducing substance and blood in her stool. The doctor thinks its either a food allergy or Isomaltase deficiency.
We took her off gluten and the blood went away and the rashes.
She wants to scope her. Would you allow it or get a second opinion first?
Update: we are getting a second opinion in two weeks and seeing the allergist Monday.

Re: Need advice from anyone with an LO with gi problems
ds#2 had similar symptoms. We actually never had a scope, but did go to a specialist. I ended up not BFing anymore since my diet was too variable. He went on Neocate (amino acid based formula). Within days his poops were better and he seemed much more content. His reflux also dramatically reduce. He ended up going off reflux meds around 9 months old.
He is almost 21 months old now and is doing amazing. We have even trialed some dairy items with success.
Good luck!
