I need help.
I am paranoid that I have placenta previa and I'm hoping those of you with it can give me some direction.
When I was about 16 weeks (so probably 9 or 10 weeks ago) I had a bleeding spell. It was quite a bit but it was bright red and then turned to a brownish. It was just one bathroom visit worth of bleeding. Got hold of my doctor and they decided to see me the next day to check. At that appointment, he said I had a low-lying placenta but he wasn't worried and expected it to migrate north like normal.
Then about 3 weeks ago, I had bleeding again. This time it was just bright red. It was enough to stain the toilet water pink and was still some light pink when I would wipe after peeing overnight. Got hold of the doctor again. This time they thought I had overdone it. I had raked part of our lawn earlier that day and H and I did the deed later that night. Bleeding followed a while after that.
Now I had some bleeding again last night. Again it was bright red, but there was also one small clump that came out. I haven't had a clump since my last period! I didn't call my doctor this time because I feel like I'm TRYING to make it be something when it very well may not be. My mom said she bled some through one of her pregnancies, but neither of my sisters ever did, expect when the one was miscarrying.
I tried doing some research on placenta previa and the gist of what I got was sporadic bleeding that can be weeks apart, and painless. My "episodes" have been completely painless.
Those of you with placenta previa, were these similar to your symptoms before being diagnosed? Or am I way overthinking this? Am I just like my mom and have some random spotting or is this something I need to worry about? I have my 25 week ultrasound this coming Tuesday and plan to bring up my most recent bleeding episode, so hopefully between now and then you all can give me something to think about!
Thank you!

Re: Those with placenta previa...
@MsGrace2003 the clump was what worried me last night. It was a tiny thing compared to what I ever had during my period, but it was still a clump. I hate to call the doctors office again because I'm afraid they think I'm one of the paranoid, overdramatic mom to be! I'm not, but like you said bleeding is something I was taught to never associate with pregnancy!
He did tell me to go without sex, 2 weeks the first time, 1 week the second time. But H and I haven't had sex in over a week now because he's been out of town, so that can't be the issue.
At my last appointment my doctor said I didn't have the RH factor or whatever that is. I'm glad I have a scheduled ultrasound next week, hopefully that will fill in a few holes for us
ETA: just saw your most recent response - at least you've having another ultrasound, so that's good!

I was told that spotting and bleeding only comes with partial or complete previa. Not with low-lying or marginal.
Call your Dr.
Update:
I just called my doctor's office. The nurse I talked to said she thinks I'm fine to wait until my scheduled appointment on Tuesday. She said if I was bleeding enough to saturate a pad she would definitely want me to come in right away, but since I'm not bleeding that much that she said the cervix is probably just irritated somehow. I explained the lack of sex recently so she said she would make a note for doctor to actually take a look inside on Tuesday to see if there was something noticeable on the outside of the cervix.
Otherwise she said it's lucky I'm scheduled for an ultrasound anyway just in case. Encouraged me to go into ER if I bleed more or baby stops moving. Baby's activity has decreased in the past few days, but she said to go home tonight, drink something cold, and lay on my left side with hands on my belly. If I feel 4-6 movements within an hour that baby should be fine.
Thanks for the thoughts. I'm at least feeling more confident that it isn't the previa!
