I won both pairs of shoes on eBay for Bennett I wanted last night. I was a crazy person checking on the bidding like every 5 minutes. AFter I got the confirmation that I "won" I did a happy dance in a kitchen. DH thought I was crazy. It was like I won the lottery.

I'm hoping to get a shit ton of stuff done this weekend but I have a feeling it'll be close to nothing. We have a million projects this summer. I need a week off.

I need to duck out at lunchtime (hopefully) to buy a bday gift for a friend's DD. I'm leaning toward a Cabbage Patch doll like DD got for Xmas, bc it's adorable. But if I can't find that at Target, I have no backup plan for this 2-year-old. All ideas welcome.

I am so miserably sick. Constant cough (so hard I've been peeing myself since last night), headache, watery eyes, chest pain and tightness like someone's sitting on me, fever, can't sleep, and my lymph nodes in my neck actually hurt. The paranoid nursing student in me thinks it's something other than a cold, since this is my second bad cold in the last month.

Feel better. This winter was hard on us too. It's so discouraging when you get over one to have another hit you again and sometimes worse.

We ate dinner out last night. I ordered at the drive thru and between window 1 and 2 I hear in the backseat "Aaaahhh, chicken, aaahhh cheese, aaahh walkawalkie." <-Bennett's word for milk. Apparently someone wanted to order his own dinner.

I really like Blue Lizard. It goes on very smoothly, compared to some of the other "good" sunscreens we've tried.

Anyone want to make suggestions on quick things to make for dinner next week? I have no interest in coming up with crap to make for dinner and DH volunteered to go grocery shopping if I create a detailed list. :-)

So far I have burritacos, pizza pie (new recipe from Pinterest so hopefully it doesn't suck) and pulled pork.

Hmm..how about oatmeal or cream of wheat with toppings. Can you handle those? I assume it was Eggos and not homemade waffles? Have DH make a big batch of oat waffles and add flax to the batter. Still carby, still easy to reheat, and more protein.

That's a pretty sweet coupon! Is it one of those things they give you for ordering? I used to get myself in trouble with those at Victoria's Secret. I spent something like $400 there just before my wedding because I couldn't resist a good deal. Too bad it's only a good deal if you were already planning to spend $400 on bras and underwear...

I made a purchase in April and got the code to use in May, it's good in store and online. It won't stack with any of the other codes out right now so that's a bummer, but it's good on sale and clearance items.

If any one wants it let me know.

I'm getting really frustrated with the VRBO owner of the house we want to rent next weekend. All the reviews that mention the owner say what a great communicator he is and so easy to get a hold of. I'm not finding this true. I left him a message through the site on Tuesday afternoon with some questions, again on Wed night letting him know my MIL also wants to rent one of his properties, and left a voicemail this morning. I am not going to book it through the site without hearing from him and I'm so set on getting this place. Please call me back and take my money dude!!

Does anyone know if you up your credit limit on a card if it negatively affects your credit score? I ask because DH and I opened a Menards card (home improvement store) way back when we first bought our house. We both have/had excellent credit but not a long list of CC's. When we got approved it was for $700 which is fine because we barely ever use it. We're going to buy a shed this weekend and a few other things and the total will be well over $1,000. I wanted to up the card limit so we can get the 2% rebate with it but if it would negatively affect things it's not worth the 2%. We have no balances on any of our CC's if that makes a difference.

So proud of the hubs. His bff is getting married next weekend and I told him last night to come up with a gift or we are giving them cash. He just emailed me that he found out Maynard from Tool (their favorite band growing up) has a winery in CA so he ordered them a case of wine. He did good!

I guess I should mention that they didn't register so we had to come up with something on our own.

@Pokedot, the Menards card comes with 2% rebate?! I'm on their website right now saying screw it to our deck project and was about to spend $600 to fix it all....I can use a menards card and get another rebate?!

We've been trying to strip our deck for almost 3 weeks. We've tried paint thinner, wire brushes, scraping, pressure washing, etc. Nothing is working. These morons who owned the house before us painted the deck with latex paint. Around 16 coats of it. At this point, we either have to continue trying to get it all off so we can stain it, or just cover it with composite. It's just ridiculous. I found almost $400 worth of Visa gift cards last night and told DH I would just give them to him so he could go and buy 1/2 the snap on composite stuff but he's still trying to be the man and prove he can strip the deck.

Also, we're having people over for Memorial Day next weekend, so the odds of this being done by then? Slim to none.

The 2% rebate comes in the form of a check. It's on any purchase except the mail in rebate items I do believe. So if you're buying a roof and the shingles have a 2% rebates you can't get the 2% like that and the 2% from the card. But other than that yes. So if we spend $1000 on the shed we get $20 back for instore credit.

ETA: The card merchandise credits used to come once a year but I think they now come quarterly. Just an FYI. I'd double check with the store or call the 800 number to double check.
