NN for Dimitri?

Dimitri is one of our final name contenders but we can't think of a good short version. DH is Greek and his family member went by Mimis as a nn, but that sounds a little feminine to us. I've heard Dimo as a nn too. Other suggestions? TIA! Eta: capitalization

The only person I ever knew name Dimitri was a college friend of my boss's. He went by Dit as a nickname. I never knew if it was a nickname for Dimitri or something else.

The Dimitris I know go by Dimi or Dima (Dima is a traditional Russian nn).

Besides Dima (pronounced Deema, not dime-a :P) Russians use Mitya ("meet-ya", sort of)
