I got my hair cut and highlighted last night..haven't done that since LO was born. I wanted it a little lighter but whatever. I still feel fabulous today.
Peeling the skin off of peaches is hard. LO is getting frozen peaches.
I got my settlement check in the mail yesterday so my bank account looks wondrous at the moment.
LO has had a rough week. He has been spiking a high fever and just not his normal, happy self. Yesterday he barely slept, fussed all day, and then started random twitching and jerking during the night. We are going in to see the pediatrician in a half hour. I'm hoping it is nothing serious, but I tend to always think the worse so I'm a nervous wreck.

oooooh! I'm going today to get my hair cut and colored. I'm hoping they don't screw it up. I'm going somewhere new. I never get my hair done because people usually don't know how to do curly hair like mine. DD's baptism is this weekend so I'm hoping I don't look like who did it and ran.

That sounds so scary! I hope it's nothing. Keep us posted.

Do you think he had a seizure?
They seemed too short and spread out to be a seizure, but I could be wrong because I don't really know much about seizures. I googled at 2 a.m. and read something about benign seizures that babies sometimes get when they have high fevers. I'm going to ask a zillion and one questions when I get there.
@deedee1017 ooh fun! I have curly hair as well (it's usually straightened) , but I've been going to the same lady forever and I trust her! I'm sure it'll come out great! I would say to post a pic...but I know that's not going to happen!

I remember when DD was sick a while back and she had this weird shaking thing going on I was nervous about it possibly being a seizure. The pediatrician said if the baby has a fever don't bundle them up because if their body gets too hot they could have a seizure. DD's shaking thing was nothing. I hope your LO's is nothing too. The pedi told me that if it is a seizure, if you grab their arm or leg (or whatever is seizing) you still won't be able to stop the movement. If it is not, then when you grab the baby it stops and you can control it.
I hate being so nice! We already have a group of room mates. A mom Dad and a 18 month old. They where down on there luck and kicked out of there house.
We also had my in-laws move in with us, because FIL is 82 and MIL doesn't work. SO they couldn't afford a place once we got our house.
Now another group of DH's friends has lost their house. They are trying to find some where to live, but it looks like they will be joining, us.
DH asked me and I though on it, but I just can't let these people be homeless. So now we will have 8 adults, 2 babies and 2 dogs, living with us. The upside is they will only be here for a few months to save up the down payment. So there is a light at the end of the tunnel.
But for while they are staying here, DS will be back in our room. So I have to pack up our nursery. I kinda just wish I was a bitch and didn't care where people slept, but I do.
So hopefully they can save up and get out as soon as possible. I gave them only 5 months to get on their feet and a place of their own.
Sorry for the long vent.
Sorry, not your problem to save the world. I would have a hard time allowing that many people to be living in our home around our child and I certainly wouldn't take DD's room away from her.
Sorry, I don't mean that to come out harsh. Kudos to you for being so generous.
hope everything goes well @tashad18 !!
@deedee1017 ooh fun! I have curly hair as well (it's usually straightened) , but I've been going to the same lady forever and I trust her! I'm sure it'll come out great! I would say to post a pic...but I know that's not going to happen!

@monkeytoes15, that's really noble of you. I think it's a wonderful quality to have and it sounds like you have struck a nice balance so you aren't a doormat. +1.
my random is that i'm so mad. the last week, just pissed. i kind of hate everybody except the ones in my little bubble. in my head, i want to curse out so many people and make a complete ass out of myself - just let the bull run in the china shop. can't do that though.
i'm frustrated. annoyed. stressed about finding a place. oh, we got denied for the most perfect place ever because of a couple scumbag agents. they said it was because of credit but i did my credit report after they refused to let us see the one we paid 100 dollars for and guess what? i have really good credit. so now i'm scrambling to find a place to live within the month and all the pressure is on me because my FI is working so much at a new job. on top of that, i don't have a car because FI is using it and the area we are moving to is an hour away from where we live so it makes it more difficult to see places. it's also really stressful to find a realtor who will work well for me and return my emails / calls promptly.
hope everything goes well @tashad18 !!

I'm in a FB group for Calgary moms. This was posted and received A LOT of positive comments and agreements.
WTF? See why I have no friends here guys!?
lol, a class?! I give them just fine, tyvm, but dh is going to be hard pressed to get me to do anything that has the word "job" attached. nope, and I don't even care if dh would like one or not. sorry not sorry.
I just think it's hilarious that people would take a class for that? ...is that just me? And let alone at someone's house!? And how would I know she is qualified anyways? Lol
Having a hard time find a place to live. Come stay with us! lol we have a living room left! I'm sorry you are having a hard time, agents can be dicks. I hope you can find your dream home soon.
We're good tenants! I SWEARS IT. (really, excellent renter's history) WHO THE FUCK CARES WHAT YOUR CREDIT IS ANYWAYS? MOST PEOPLE HAVE CRAP CREDIT. IT IS KNOWN.
*dear monkeytoes, I know you were just joking. as you can see, i still have much feelings about being denied for no. good. reason. and subsequently getting blown off by every jackoff that is supposed to help with this sort of thing.

@MonkeyToes15 If it gets out of hand, they have to leave at some point for work/errands. A locksmith is cheap compared to issues with people. The eviction process can be long and daunting, unless you live in the same house.
@Weljadraak (motherfucker your name is hard) fuck all the people. Good luck on finding a place soon!
@trackgirlparis Some people just don't know. I would probably go/host, but I'm a sucker for talking about sex, I just wouldn't post in a mommy group of people I don't know.
@tashad18 Keep us posted on your LO. Fx that it's nothing serious.
We are getting new carpet in our bedroom today and I am super excited. Our bed is currently in our living room and that's where we slept last night. It was kind of fun actually. lol DS stayed at the in-laws because we painted our room and we didnt want him breathing in the fumes. I am ready for these carpet installers to get here, install the carpet, & leave so I can get my house back in order and so DS can come home!
My mom & little brother are currently staying with us due to some unforseen circumstances and our house is super small with it just being the 3 of us so it's interesting to say the least. I of course will do anything to help my family; DH on the other hand isnt having any of that and he wants them out ASAP. It's so hard to find a happy medium because I will NOT allow my mom and brother to live on the streets, it's simply not an option. I just wish DH was more compassionate about things. Him & I are total opposites; I will help ANYONE at any given time, he on the other hand will not. We argue a lot about that.
@StefMurph I have no problems talking about sex lol...and I know I'm good at bjs... I just thought it was weird to post in a mom group of strangers. And going to her house seems weird. And again, how would I know she even knew what she was doing hahaha
My baby has decided this week that she will not sleep unless she is held. She is EXHAUSTED! When I pick her up, she lays her head on my should and goes to sleep instantly, but as soon as I start to lay her down she screams. All the "old moms" in my life say to let her cry it out a little and she will go to sleep. I did that on Tuesday and she was asleep in less than 5 minutes. I was going to do the same last night and DH threw a fit and said that he disagreed and that it was border-line abusive... Now I don't know what to do to get her to sleep. She needs sleep, and I want to do whatever is best for her. I guess I just don't know what that is...
Somehow this turned in to a dear diary post and it sounds a little desperate. I just want to do what ever is best for her. She needs to sleep and we have never had any issue with her sleeping before!
I don't have statistics on this, but I don't believe this is true. I am curious, though, if you have seen statistics on this. Not trying to be snarky, really just curious. Most people don't have much of a credit history at all at 20, and they can get turned down for things for that reason, but that is different from having "bad credit."
I guess my UO (hopefully not a UO, though) is that too many people overlook the importance of having good credit. I think they end up blaming "the system" rather than whatever they did that earned them their poor credit rating. It's not easy to fix your credit, and it takes time, but you absolutely can do it!
ETA: Whoops, thought I was in the UO thread, lol.
I don't have statistics but I can see why this might be true. Think about it - as soon as you turn 18, you are receiving offers for credit cards. No one will school you in responsible use of a credit card or what having a credit card actually entails, so it could be easy to fuck up your credit as soon as you're an "adult". I do know that the average credit score is "fair" (689). Luckily, I have good credit but I think it's ridiculous that to rent an apartment, a credit check is performed and in many cases GOOD CREDIT IS A MUST! You're absolutely right though, there are ways to get pesky instances removed from your credit report.
@MonkeyToes15 I grew up in a household where my Mom felt the need to "save" everyone. I had a very miserable childhood. I know your son won't remember, but no child should have to give up their place in a home. DH and I actually have an agreement that nobody no matter who will stay at our home for any cemented amount of time. If someone's house gets flooded or burns down it's a little different. It's great that you want to help people out, but sometimes we have to put our family first.
So super glad I don't live in an apartment. I would probably be in the nut house right now if the neighbors had heard me!
My husband has his XBox hooked up to our tv...so in order to watch tv I have to verbally tell the stupid xbox what to do. This morning, XBox didn't want to listen. I tried all the usual commands and it wouldn't do shit...so this was me:
(I hardly cuss in front of my kids and if I do it's minor words)
"hey fucking xbox I said watch tv!!!!, dammit I didn't say listen to music, NO NOT the news!!!! WATCH TV you piece of shit!!!!!"
My 5 year old came out horrified... stood in front of the tv, handled it like a boss...he even set it on the cooking channel for me and walked off shaking his head.
I think renting is way different than buying a house. I understand why good credit / fair credit is important for owning a house because you're taking out a loan, but you're not with renting. I have 3+ years of EXCELLENT renter's history. Say I had the same renter's history but my credit report indicates I have a few outstanding medical bills (it does not, this is hypothetical). Why should that determine if I have a nice place to live? Should my renter's history really pale in comparison to my poor credit?
I'm actually interested to the other side of things so please enlighten me. I've had one hellish journey and am sick of every one and their mother wanting to run my credit. I've already had it run once and I am not thrilled about running it multiple times. When I've rented in the past, this has never mattered. A background check, yes, sure, but my damn credit report?
Why is it ridiculous for a credit check to be run on apartments??? I was an apartment manager for a few years and people that had good credit paid their rent on time. Because if they pay their credit cards and bills on time they have good credit. Most of the people that we rented to that had bad credit were the problem residents. The ones I constantly had to be pestering for their rent.
Granted, there are extenuating circumstances, but for the majority this is the case. They are in the business of making money, not to provide homes for the needy.
I'm honestly not trying to be mean, I just have dealt with this from the other side a lot!
I suppose I just don't equate poor credit with bad people. People make mistakes, like you said, extenuating circumstances. I appreciate your experience because the other side of things has never been said to me before. In my experience, the apartment managers use their own method of determining approval / rejection and are not willing to discuss ways to remedy the situation.
To further the discussion, I must give full disclosure. I'm obviously renting with my FI so we both fill applications. Turns out, his credit isn't the greatest (definitely not the worst) but below average. Mine is above average. We did a personal credit check for him and did find that he has less than 1000 dollars of unpaid medical bills (3 total in collections) but he makes plenty of money for rent, offered to deepen the deposit, and attempted to make a plea to no avail. They really were just like no, fuck you and fuck off. I would think with my credit + his would equal some kind of balance. It might have just been that ONE place but still, it stung and left us confused and upset.
Sometimes when my usual pumping spot isn't available I pump in a conference room. It's been at least 2 weeks since I've last pumped in the conference room. We had a meeting in there today and I must have left one of the valves behind. The meeting starts and there's one if my valves in the middle of the table...like a tiny little centerpiece. Then people start picking it up and passing it around trying to figure out what it is. Dying.
I'll let @Snowboarderbritt respond because it sounds like she has more direct experience. I did work as a credit counselor for a while, though. From the stories I've heard, it really depends on who is renting to you. If your credit report shows that you pay your credit cards, car loans, etc on time, but you have a few outstanding medical bills, many landlords will realize that you are not a shitty deadbeat and rent to you. But if your credit report shows that you are constantly late on your credit cards (or don't pay them at all), have 4 cell phone bills in collection accounts, got a car repossessed last year, etc, well... that is important information about your ability to pay rent. No, it's not a loan, but it does cost them money to first of all get you started off as a tenant. And second of all, if you don't pay for a few months and they evict you, chances are good that they aren't getting that money, and that is a lot of lost money for them.
Oh, yeah! Definitely. There can be a lot of valuable information within a credit report and if there are certain patterns, I would be weary. I see exactly what you are saying about the bolded. What I'm saying is what if you have substantial renter's history, no evictions, no late rent, no damages, etc.? I think that is where these ideas clash and you have to weigh it out, case by case.
@Amjoy25 Hope you get to cuddle Willa tonight. Love the bunny pjs. We had some given to us at the shower in August and she wore them all the time. They didn't fit by the time Easter came.
As far as credit and rental history, I understand the reasoning. My credit is not the greatest, but my rent for the last 10 years has always been paid on time. I look at it as I have to have a place to live versus a medical bill or a credit card that fell behind.
