Hi Ladies,
DH just called me at work to tell me he got off the phone with his urologist, and his tumor markers were up at his cancer screen last week. They're hoping it was just a fluke or lab mistake because the CT scan he had 6 months ago showed everything was normal. He'll be re-tested in a week, and then it will be another few days before we'll know anything. He'd been debating whether or not to tell me because he didn't want to stress me out because of the pregnancy, but he also doesn't want anyone else to know until there's something to know. He was like this with his first fight with cancer. He actually wasn't going to tell his parents until after his surgery because he didn't want to upset them. I just had to get this out to someone, so I know there's someone out there who is also praying for him. Thank you.
His cancer history: he found a lump on his testicle in July 2011. The Dr.'s were amazed he discovered it on his own because it was so small. Once they removed the testicle and tested it, he was diagnosed with non-seminoma testicular cancer. The tumor was also made up of really rare teratomas which would prevent it from responding to chemo or radiation which is the usual second round of treatment to make sure the cancer stays away. For him, they had to do a lymph node dissection. All of this was done in the summer and fall of 2011, and we were told the cancer had not spread to the lymph nodes, but they were still removed as a precaution. He has a CT scan done annually and blood work checking for tumor markers done every 6 months. Up until today, everything has been clear.

Lots of good thoughts going your way. I hope everything turns out to be a fluke error with the initial blood work. Big hugs.
DH was also diagnosed with testicular cancer in September of 2011. I was pregnant with DS then...actually, I was just about as far along then as we are now. It was the scariest time of our lives (at the time...DH has had some major health issues since but is ok now).
One thing I can tell you is that at the time, they told him that the testicle that had cancer was extremely unlikely to have been the one to get me pregnant. They said that generally, that testicle wouldn't have "worked" for a while. If that's true, then hopefully your H's cancer isn't back...being that you are pregnant.
Either way...T & P's coming to you and your family.

I'm keep my fingers crossed for you and your family that this is just a fluke! The whole thing is always so scary.
