High risk but not high risk?

As you'll see from my siggy, I battle infertility. My dr found low-positive anticardiolipids and referred me to a Maternal Fetal Specialist, saying my next pregnancy would be high risk and I'd probably need blood thinners. The specialist won't even meet me after reviewing my chart and saying "We'd treat you like a regular pregnant woman." What?! This is so frustrating. It's like I have a problem but not enough of a problem. I also have 1 copy of MTHFR which I know isnt' the worst, but is controversial. And, bonus, currently have chronic endometritis. Any advice? Should i try a different maternal fetal specialist? This is supposed to be one of the 'top in the area'. Thanks!

Go see another. When we were talking about "trying", I was sent to a specialist that was top rated. We had a lot of questions because I have been told I would struggle to get pregnant or miscarry a few times before carrying full term. So we wanted to be fully prepared and see if there was anything we could do to prepare my body. The dr made me feel like an idiot and pretty much said I was wasting his time.. There is no reason for a dr to belittle you, especially if there is something concerning or something that causes you to be high risk.

I also have a low positive for anti cardio lipid antibodies (and I'm pregnant with twins from IVF). I'm on a daily baby aspirin and 60mg lovenox each day. I would get a second opinion.

Thanks ladies! Aurora when did u start the lovenox? im already taking baby aspirin because i basically begged

@intheplanningstage‌ I started it after my first MFM appointment.. Probably around 12-14 weeks. I think I wrote a post About it below. If we had known about the antibodies, I would have been on it my entire pregnancy. I just hadn't had the Bloodwork done. At my first MFM appointment they did a full panel and realized I had it. I started lovenox the next day.

I also have 1 copy of MTHFR. It means nothing in relation to pregnancy other than you need more folic acid. I was already seeing my MFM before they found it (for a pre-term loss at 25 weeks in my first pregnancy). My MFM said MTHFR is not a concern unless you have 2 copies, then you need blood-thinners. So your OB was wrong about that.

I don't have personal experience with low-positive anticardiolipids though, so if that was the reason he stated you need the blood-thinners then I would talk to the MFM and ask their reasoning. Then I would talk to your OB about referring you to another one if that MFM refuses to treat you and both you and the OB think you need to be.

Thanks ladies. I actually spoke to my RE today and he's referring me to another specialist-he doesn't know why that doctor told me I wasn't high risk. So glad!
