was soooooooo rude!!!
Here's how the convo went:
Her: So why are you here today?
Me: I've been spotting for 10 days and I don't know if it's normal. Sometimes it's really light and sometimes it's like a period.
Her: Well what birth control are you on?
Me: Amethyst.
Her: What's that??
Me: Dr. T prescribed it so that I would have one period a year since I have endometriosis.
Her: Well I've never heard of such a thing and I've been doing this for 13 years!
Me: Well, that is what I was prescribed.
Her: (as she storms out) Well, I have to have someone call your pharmacy because I have no idea what you're on.
(She comes back in): Ok, we'll do a pelvic exam. (she leaves and waits for me to undress.) She comes in again.
<<I know there is a note on my profile to make sure that pelvic exams are gentle since they cause pain from the endo>>
She roughly proceeds to do the pelvic. I swear she opened the speculum thing as far as it would go. When I about climbed off the table, she says, "Oh, you're fine. There's not much blood here, I don't know what you're talking about."
Me: Well, like I said, it goes light and heavy. The other day I was going through a super sized tampon every two hours.
Her: (rolls her eyes) Ok. Get dressed. (Leaves and re-enters)
Me: Wow, that made me crampy.
Her: I'm not giving you anything for pain.
Me: I didn't ask. So what do I do about the bleeding?
Her: Stop taking the pill for three days and let it bleed. Then start again.
Me: Well the whole idea of me being on this pill was so that I don't have periods, because they're so painful.
Her: Well, then keep spotting.
I ended getting up and leaving. I called and reported her, and rescheduled with my doctor. I am in a lot of pain right now, and of course I'm bleeding more again...Sigh...
Re: OMG, the OB/GYN NP I saw today...
She's a jerk.
Some people should not be in the healthcare field.
Was her last name Rice? With PN Clinics?
I agree, in general, but my regular GYN (a woman) has been there for me throughout the whole endo thing. She saw that the gentle pelvic exam that she did brought me to tears, she's always been gentle and not done a full pelvic unless absolutely necessary. She knows that my ex used to rape me, and has always listened to me complain about every day life while I see her. She has the BEST bedside manner EVER. That's why it was such a shock to see how far the other way it can go...
I don't know if I ever saw her. DS was born at Ridges. I went to the PN across the street during my pregnancy though.
Sorry you had to deal with that today. I hope they can get you in with your regular doc again soon.
No, I don't think I've ever seen her. I'll know to stay far far away if her name ever comes up with PN in SLP. I'll also be sure to let all my friends that may go there to avoid her if at all possible. I am astounded at how she treated you.
did she say anything when you left?
you shouldve punched her in the crotch and then said "oh youre fine!"
what a dumb slut.
When I walked out, I said, "I'll just reschedule with MY doctor who knows what she's talking about." She just shrugged her shoulders.
This. Any time you make an appointment in the future, confirm that you will not be seen by her.

I hate bitches who just assume that because they don't experience it that others are just whining.
