We watched frozen with ds last night. He cried multiple times because he got scared but he was pissed when I paused it and kept signing and yelling "more". We are not ready for Disney. Kiddo is way too sensitive.
DS1 LOVED Disney movies when he was around 2ish.  Then at 3 he was all of a sudden scared of every "bad-guy."  At 4 he's still a little freaked out by some of the movies.  Frozen he's good with though.  :)

One of the moms from daycare invited C and I over to her house last night for pizza dinner with the kids. (Her little boy - almost 3 - LOVES C). We had fun, it was so nice to get out of the house during the week for a little.

C was playing on their stairs, and I kept telling her to stop or she'd fall. Well, she fell, and did a couple of flips down about 7 stairs. The other mom told me I was an amazing mother because I didn't yell, didn't panic, and didn't let C see how much she scared me. I picked her up, calmed her down, and asked her if she was hurt. She shook her head. I asked her if she was scared. She nodded. So I talked to her about not playing on the stairs - but she was back on them in about 30 seconds. Kids...
This happened to Aedan a couple weeks ago.  I stayed calm, but internally was freaking out.  I watched him like a hawk for 2 days. Now I'm paranoid on our new stairs because the bottom isn't carpeted.

    Glad C is okay!
Thanks! She crashed right into a hardwood floor, ha. Luckily we have no stairs to worry about in our apartment... so we'll see if she learned her lesson. I just don't freak out about things that I know are going to happen at some point. She's bound to fall and hurt herself, and have bruises and bumps.

We've never seen any of the shows you guys are talking about. His extent is Mickey Mouse, Jake and the Neverland Pirates and a few movies.

Speaking of kids TV shows. Has anyone been tortured through an episode of Timmy Time? Traycen is obsessed. It's farm animals made of clay that just make noises. It's HORRIBLE but he just loves it.
Hannah loves Timmy time.  She watches it in the morning while we get ready.

She just screeches over and over "A baaa! A baa!" (Baa=sheep).  That possibly makes it even worse.  Haha

We saw that for the first time this morning. Neither of mine seemed impressed.
  • Timmy Time sucks.

I kind of doubted myself and thought I exaggerated on having a thousand yards of fabric. Now that I'm taking pictures, I definitely wasn't. What on earth was I thinking?!

Disclaimer: I'm not and never was trying to get you guys to buy my fabric. I had no idea there were fabric lovers around here.

  • I'm studying as much as I can today, between my dad and MIL coming over to watch DD for me.  Finals tomorrow and I feel like I know about as much as I did coming into this semester.

On the upside, my dad made a doctor's appointment and my sister and I are going to it with him.  He's still convinced nothing is wrong and he's making excuses ("I've modified my drinking", "Everyone dies of something", "Every cigarette YOU smoke is closer to death", "Food will kill you", etc.)  I know that's how alcoholics work, but the blame game is getting fuckingold.

I puked randomly last night and now my throat hurts like a motherfucker.

DH is trading in our work car for another "work car".  He's in love with old cars and it's an 85 Monte Carlo SS in literally perfect shape.  I really don't care about cars, but I do like this one.  Just on the main drag of our little town, we got a thumbs up and a honk yesterday test driving it.  Plus, it's huge and has tinted windows so we could totally take it out to the country and pretend we're in high school again.

  • I feel like a big cheat on our no spend month, in the last 12hours I've purchased: a kitchen helper (price dropped from $150-$109), a double stroller and closet organizers.

I used gift cards for all of it so it will not show up in our accounts, but I still feel bad.

  • I need to start packing our house. We close on June 2 so I really need to get a head start with my due date being June 6! I'm thinking of getting paper products and packing up my kitchen. That's always the worst to pack for me so getting it out of the way would be nice...less dishes to do would be an added plus!!

We've purged so much over the past 2 years from all of our moves and downsizing, but I'm sure there is still stuff we could stand to get rid of. I'm all about purging these days and getting rid of unneccessary stuff!

We were going to list our house this month, but it's such a disaster that I am pushing it until next month.

I'm not convinced it will be ready even then.

I even just sent H a text saying "Nashville hates him too!"

    STUCK

It's black with the stripes down the side, no t-top though.  Previous owner kept it in amazing condition. No rust, perfect paint job, under the hood doesn't have a speck of dirt and DH went all the way under the car and checked it out.  He said it looked like they had re-done the bottom and sprayed it.   I'm pretty excited about it, but I know DH is WAY more excited than I could ever be.  One of his friends has an older car and they've been talking for a while about what they'll do when DH gets one.  Boys...

YES! It was DD1's favorite show for a while. Thankfully she has forgotten about it. Have you tried Shawn the Sheep? It's similar (about animals with no talking) but much less annoying. Both girls love it.

I will have to check into it, this Timmy Time business is almost unbearable.

FFWC, I like the Bobby Bones Show.  Now, I haven't listened to it when they talk about hemis or anything like that.  But I do like that they are real and up front about their lives!

I loved when they did Joy Week, and I do like the fact that Bobby is active in animal rescue. But, I enjoy my XM radio for the simple fact I don't have to listen to the blab. I like to just hear the jams.

  • I hate most morning radio shows. Especially when it is just 1 dj. They are having one sided conversations with themselves. I listen to our Christian station because it is listener funded and basically no commercials and minimal talk in the am.

There's like 3 or 4 of them on this show.  And it's literally 15 minutes of their nonsense, and then one song, and then more nonsense.

I don't think I realized just how much I hated this show before.

    Haha.

I'm watching House MD on Netflix and there was an episode where termites ended up being the issue. I now over analyze any bug I see in or around my house. I shouldn't be allowed to watch that show.
Bed bugs freak me out way more that termites.  Either way, ew.  AND, I don't hate bugs.

  • I am a complainer. I have been trying to make a conscious effort to stop or to minimize it but I am slipping again. I'm sure I am annoying. It comes from both parents and it is so hard to break!

I was going to my car on lunch yesterday and a guy walked by and we exchanged hello's. He asked how I was doing and I said "Great except for this darn rain." He proceeded to say "Well I'm just thankful I'm on this side of the dirt. Rain, snow whatever. It's not going to get me down." Put it in perspective for me. Just a thought. (I complain too and I'm also trying to make a conscious effort to be more positive.)

It's gorgeous here and the only thing running through my mind is all the things I could get done at home right now. My lunch break will be spent looking at shingle samples. So damn hard to choose. It's not like paint I can change if I hate it.

We totally chose the wrong color for our house.  Well, I did.  DH is so much better at that than I am.  The one thing you can do though if you don't like it is change or add accessory shutters and change the door colors.  That really makes a difference.

What are colors are you debating?

  • I am grateful. But sometimes the first thing out of my mouth is a complaint. And it is more to my close friend or family than strangers. I don't know. I hope that if I continue the action my attitude will follow.
  • Wally Kazam is the best kids show...EVER, like I fight Indy to watch it instead of TMNT.

I think you can change your outlook on things. If you are a complainer, make an effort to see the good in it- there is always something positive.Even when it doesn't seem like it, and times are fawking hard, there is a positive, even if it is just that you are alive and loved. Just my two pennies.
    :D
I absolutely know this. I know how blessed I am and am thankful. It is a terrible habit that I am trying to break.
  • Meh. I see nothing wrong with complaining (in moderation out loud ;) ) . And early UO that I've said before. I really, really hate minimizing someone's complaints just because they have it better than someone else.

I'm not dead, true. But that doesn't mean that it doesn't suck for me that my kid drove me crazy or (insert other complaint here).

I am a negative person by default. I feel like 9 out of 10 of my fb statuses or posts are negative or complaint. I try and stop myself constantly. I just feel that I am over and above in my complaint quota. I don't want to be viewed as negative. I am by no means bubbly optimistic. I just don't want to come across as ungrateful and negative.

I, for one, do not think your FB makes you come across as negative, actually - not at all.

But again, I really don't see anything wrong with complaining.

In my experience, they've come back pretty quickly, like within 24 hours (usually less), depending on what they use.
