DS will be 1 on Saturday and I dropped the bottle and formula cold turkey last Friday. We have been doing whole milk in the sippy at breakfast, lunch and dinner and water and or juice throughout the day. He seems to like the milk but isn't crazy about it like he was for formula. I notice if he is really thirsty he will drink almost the entire cup but not the whole thing so I am concered that he is not getting enough milk. I am hoping it will get better in a week or 2 once he gets use to it. Anyone else experience this??
We have his 1 year appoinitment next Friday so I was going to ask the pedi if I should be concerned.
By the way he was born 6 weeks early but you could never tell - he is already 23lbs. I think I am just a freak about his weight and eating since we had such a hard time keeping it up in the first month of his life.
TIA for any advice, thoughts, or opinions.

Re: Whole milk - how much a day?
pedi told me DD should get 2-3 servings of milk/day. She is JUST at 2 servings and pedi said if she doesn't get 2 to 3 servings a day then to start giving her a vitamin.
She is slowly getting better and drinking more of it! Hang in there and ask your pedi what they suggest.
I've heard 16-20 oz is good, but that also would include any other dairy like yogurt or cheese. DS is drinking slightly less milk than formula too, but still getting enough.
It's hard, especially for us preemie moms, to get over the fact that their main source of nutrition is no longer their milk. I think it sounds like he's doing pretty good!
My ped wants the boys to get as much milk as they were formula, but there's just no way. They're drinking more milk than there were in the beginning, though. I do give them yogurt every day and cheese too.
Good job growing him so big! My boys were about that early, too, and my biggest is maybe 21 lbs.
