Just a funny, random occurrence. I was cooking eggs for lunch and one of them was a double yolker. I've never had one of those before. One of the superstitions around double yolk eggs apparently is that someone in your family will have twins. That someone is me! There are some not nice superstitions as well, but we'll just stick to the positive one.
I have an upsie belly support. I can only tolerate it when I'm standing as well and just for an hour or so. It does help for a little while. But It digs in sitting down and I can feel the babies kicking more which freaks me out.
Had my 30 week OB appointment...and I am measuring past my due date...so 10 weeks ahead at least...I always was only 6 weeks ahead...so now the pain in my hips and pain getting around makes sense...
And to think I have 7 weeks left...holy moly how am I going to move by then??
@luluPMW I finally got in for my Chiro appt this weekend. I think it helped with my back as i was not as uncomfortable sleeping after it. He mentioned that there were several spots that he definitely corrected. I think my girl switched positions from breech to head down but I didn't ask him if that was something he could do.
As an added plus, he must have seen how uncomfortable I was and said that his masseuse was not busy and that he was willing to have her do a 45 minute massage for $30 buck. I jumped at that chance. This table had a hole in it for my belly, i would have paid $30 just to lie on my chest, the massage was an added plus.
Well I got a nice little 2 week modified bedrest but my cervix went back down to 1.7 cm today so it's back to strict bedrest for me. Blaghhh. I am going stir crazy... How are our fellow twin mom bedresters doing?
@Odebdo I hear ya! I'm measuring 40 weeks already, so no wonder I just feel done. It's been so hard, my hips are a mess, too! I really have no idea how we're supposed to make it to 37-38 weeks at least!
@TRS48 I'm sorry you're back on strict bedrest. But it'll be over soonish! *hugs*
Thanks ladies! It's sooo boring, I'm going stir crazy. Totally agreed on the sleep situation too! Omgosh you poor thing with the bathroom upstairs! With the amount of times we have to get up to pee at night I don't blame you for not wanting to sleep on the couch when it's so far away!
Thanks @Ylvelill . Glad to hear you are home from the hospital!! I bet you are so happy to be back in your own bed!
Omg yes and being able to get snuggles is helping my stress levels too
We went to see the nicu while in the hospital, that was a big motivator to stay in bed. My husband is now insisting I continue until week 37 even if the doctors are lifting it at 34. He is adorably over protective of the babies.
What are your appt schedules like? It's a good thing I'm stopping work soon because I don't know how I would go to all my appts and work. I am now seeing my ob once a week, I have to get nsts twice a week at the hospital, I get ultrasounds every 4 weeks at my mfm, and I have to see a hypertension specialist twice this month. I can barely keep my calendar straight.
As of right now, I am still seeing MFM every two weeks. My next appt is in 2 weeks and I am not sure what will happen after that because I will be almost 32 weeks and they said the cervix checks would stop at that point (woohoo!!!!). I have been having a growth u/s every 4 weeks, so if all looks good, and I make it that far, maybe my next one would be at 36 weeks???
As for OB, I had an appt at 28 weeks and have to go back next week (30 weeks) because of slightly elevated BP. Then I go back at 32 weeks, and assume 34, 36, then weekly if I am still baking babies.
It's so crazy to think there are only a few (hopefully!!) more appointments left before the babies get here!!
@TRS48...so sorry you are on bedrest...hopefully you have some friends or relatives that can come in maybe and visit some to make the time go faster?
@Yivelill Glad you are home...hope all goes well and DH gets to stay overprotective of those babies until 37 weeks!
I had a growth scan at the MFM today...they are guesstimating baby girl is 4 lbs 13 oz, and baby boy is 4 lbs 4 oz...so chunky monkeys....they said she is in the 80th percentile and he is in the 70th...no wonder things hurt as that is a lot of baby, even if they are off a bit...two placentas, two water sacs etc...it all adds up! Babies looked good and cute! Definitely not a lot of room for either of them!
My appointment schedule is getting nuts...I have one appointment with the OB next week, Friday, which is my 32 week mark....then all hell breaks lose...I will have 2 times a week NSTs at the hospital with the MFM because of the twins, and my GD...I have an appointment with the MFM doctor, and my OB goes to weekly....so most weeks I will have 3 appointments, some weeks more...good thing my boss is flexible!
I had an ultrasound with MFM today. Baby a is 3lb 7 oz and baby B is 3lb 5oz at 31 weeks 2 days. I got an added visit with OB while I was there due to pressure and contractions. Now I'm officly off work thank god. Time to rest and let these boys grow!!
Sounds like a lot of us are growing some big babies, which is awesome!!!! Keep up the great work ladies and rest when you can. Soon we will be snuggling our munchkins! I can't wait for pictures and birth announcements!
Question...I haven't had a NST this pregnancy. Is there a point they become routine with multiples? My docs haven't mentioned anything yet and with DS I only had one- at 40w
We had an ultrasound with MFM today and both boys are looking great and are estimated to be 3 lbs 12 oz each. Together, that is only 2 oz less than what DS weighed when he was born. Yikes! I will see my MFM again at 32 weeks and then weekly after that. I'm still just doing OB appointments every two weeks.

My OB won't bother until like 35-36 weeks.
And grats ladies on the big babies! I'll get to see mine next week.
You Mamas are having some good size babies! I'll find out mine Monday. Can't wait to see them as it reminds me that all these aches and pains are all about!
I go to MFM and the OB every two weeks.
I'm not aware of having the FST.
On another note, I got my first stretch mark! Just a little one by my belly button. Hopefully when my belly button rolls back in it will be on the inside and hopefully I won't get any more....oh one can dream! lol!
Do any of you get cervical checks? Whether vaginally or by ultrasound? I'm alittle concerned my OB checked mine yesterday n said the length is 1inch. But with no dilation yet

I would have had one a week starting at 32 weeks...because I am on medication for gestational diabetes, I will have 2 a week.
Sounds like everyone is doing well!! We have baby shower #3 today...and the babies room is about finished so I can hopefully start sorting and figuring out what we still need!
1 inch cervix? That seems really long? They usually measure in cm or mm. Did he mean 1 cm? I get transvaginal ultrasound measurements on my cervix almost every appt (but I have had issues with the length since 21 weeks) and they just started manual checks at 27 weeks and I will get those every appt now too... Not fun! In a way, I'd rather not know!
I also had a growth scan yesterday at 30w 3d and A=3lb7oz and B=3lb12oz. And that's almost a pound each in two weeks. Which is a comparable rate.
On a side note, my lower back is killing me and I can barely hobble around. I feel pathetic. Anyway, the tech was in training and took extra long getting measurements. I almost cried a few times during the hour long appointment. I think I will request no techs in training next time.
Anyone else feel that the pressure of the ultrasound almost hurts the belly?
Had an appt with my OB today for a BP recheck. I will be 30 weeks tomorrow and I'm measuring 41!!!!!! WTF! Lol! How am I ever going to last approximately 8 more weeks?!?! Anyone else measuring waaaay big??
It's reassuring to know that others are measuring waaaay ahead! Of course, it doesn't make the situation any easier :-). I keep telling myself the end is near....hoping it goes quick!
I always feel like I'm so done, but I need to remind myself that I'm only 30 weeks, they need to keep cooking! And @Kohler2009 I was measuring 40 weeks when I was 28 weeks. Totally normal to be ahead, but it makes me wonder how much more difficult this will get.
I have to ask though. When you ladies go out, do people stare and say things like, "oh you must be due any day!"? When this happens I just kinda go "umm, no, not till July..." and it's just awkward and it happens all. the. time. I look like I'm about to pop, but I'm not! So I always fess up it's twins, or they assume... *sigh* I'm just so done with the comments and being fake nice about it. I know I'll get comments once they're here, too, so I need to deal with it, but it's trying. How do you guys deal with the attention? I feel like a freak show! *vent over*
I got yelled at across walgreens a few weeks ago about how I was about to pop. Yeah, not quite, but thanks. I just tell everybody it's twins when they ask when I'm due and I say July.
Is anyone else dealing with carpel tunnel? I feel like that is the hardest thing I'm dealing with at the moment. My fingers are always tingly/ numb, and I have a hard time doing anything with my fingers. I also drop stuff all the time which really sucks when you are already measuring over full term. My feet have also been swelling so bad. Ugh!
@lynnyrd80 haha totally agree on the dropping stuff! I just leave things on the floor and wait for DH to come home and pick them up. It's impossible to do it with a huge bump!

I think I must give off a good "leave me alone" vibe, or my resting bitch face is formidable... I rarely ever get comments! And when I do it's usually with a cashier as I'm buying baby stuff. When someone does ask when I'm due I generally get a nice eye bulge, and I'll admit it's twins. Of course now I can be more vague and just say I'm due "next" month (since technically am, won't go past June 30th) and they just go with it lol.
I got a bunch of comments while out last week. Not sure why by July still seems so far away even though May is half over. I have started telling people how many weeks are left. Sound much better in my mind too!!
You ladies make me feel so much better just because all the complaints I have are normal!! Nobody else gets it!
I swear I am going to smack the next person who tells me "Rest up now while you still can!" and chuckles....you try being pregnant with twins at 32 weeks and tell me how you rest up! It is impossible!
I also have carpel tunnel and it is one of the biggest complaints I have had throughout this pregnancy....wrist braces help but the velcro at night is annoying with the sheets etc...I am so hoping that the pains go away as soon as the babies are here LOL!
Final of 4 baby showers is tomorrow (DH's work) and I have an OB appointment...next week I am so lucky to have FOUR appointments...2 NSTs at the hospital, a MFM appointment, and an OB one...sigh.
I am thankful for every day I am still pregnant...but this stuff is really getting harder....
@ashleysyn2 - great news! Are you done working now? This is my first week off and I feel so much better. Have your babies changed position yet? Baby b is now head down. It is the first time either of them have been head down. Baby a is still breech and bigger, but I'm having a rcs so it doesn't matter. Yours still have plenty if time to get into position.
Today was my last day! They're breach and transverse, but I am still holding out hope that they'll move.
I hope they move! My Baby A has been head down (like on my freaking cervix) forever, but Baby B is now back to transverse, so she moves a LOT. I'd say it's still possible for them to move! And yay for your last day!
I had my 30 week u/s yesterday and Baby A is still on my cervix and 4 lbs and Baby B went transverse and curled up in a ball (she's so uncooperative lol) and about 3.7 lbs. They're both crazy active and doing great.
I look HUGE now and clearly grew a bunch in just a week or so. It's getting even harder to do much. It makes sense I'm (and all of us are!) hitting a wall now and getting so tired; we're carrying the same (more or less) amount of babies as someone with a full term singleton! Definitely crazy to think about. We're all doing great, and only weeks left until we meet our babies!
Re: July twin MoMs
Sorry to hear you are back on strict bed rest
I am going a little nuts myself but at least I got to go home last night from the hospital. Cervix are holding steady at 1.5.
