2 boys but now team purple??

I'll be 19 weeks on Friday. Two weeks ago the ultrasound tech at our MFM told us we were having two boys. I have pictures with arrows pointing to the tell-tale spots. Fast forward to today, and at our regular OB appointment, the tech said that we are having a boy AND A GIRL!

We told her what the MFM had said (and he has a better machine) and the tech today said that she has been doing this for 30 years and that we are having a girl. Ha! She thinks the MFM got pictures of the sw twin twice.

Obviously most importantly they're both healthy, with good heartbeats, etc. They're great and I'm great. We haven't bought one single thing yet.

We go back in two weeks to the MFM. Only time will tell I guess! Anyone else have this happen?

Me: 32, DH: 34  / TTC since February 2011 / SA: all normal, HSG: all clear! / on Lovenox for anticardiolipid antibodies
4 IUIs with Clomid, Letrozole, and Menopur. All BFN.
9/12: lap / hysteroscopy: found and removed mild endometriosis, cervical polyp, and 2 para-tubular cysts
5/13 IVF #1: Follistim, Menopur, Ganirelix, 10R/4M/4F, ET of 2, 5 cell and 4 cell, no frosties = BFN
12/13 IVF #2 = November / December 2013. Microdose Lupron Protocol: 15R/6M/6F, Froze all 6 due to high E2 and P4
FET 1: Jan 22, 2014 of one 4AB blast and one 3BB blast (3 blasts on ice!)
BFP on HPT 4dp5dt, Beta #1 9dp5dt: 310, Beta #2 11dp5dt: 899
First u/s on 2/17/14: TWINS!!!!! both w/HBs of 114 at 6w3d, HBs 150 and 152 at 7w5d
5/27/2014: Team purple!!!!  EDD 10/10/2014 / 
Delivered by c-section at 32w0d 8/15/2014 due to preeclampsia/HELLP syndrome
Baby Boy 4lbs 1oz, 17 inches
Baby Girl 3lbs 5oz, 16 inches

    Wow that is crazy I often wondered if the same thing is possible for me.  Baby A has been really difficult to look at but MFM said that they are both girls.  We are having an ultrasound my OB on Friday.  They have not done one yet so I am curious to see if they still think they are girls.

    I hear it happens all the time! A girl on pgal when I was there was told at her a/s i think at 20ish weeks it was a boy and that was as her last ultrasound so imagine her surprise when she gave birth to a baby girl ;)
    Me: 37 DH: 40 TTC since 9/09
    #1 BFP 1/10/11; missed m/c discovered 7w5d
    IF Dx: Endo, hetero MTHFR mutation, poor morphology
    #1 IUI: 1/18/12 = BFN
    #1 IVF/ICSI 4/2/12 = 2 x 7-cell and 1 x 5-cell transferred (3dt) = BFP!!
    H was born at 41w2d on 12/29/12 - be still my heart!
    #2 IVF/ICSI 1/19/14 = 2 x 8 cells transferred (3dt) = BFP!! EDD 10/09/14
    M&W born at 37 weeks on 9/18/14 - I am the momma of 3 boys!!!

    I was told boy/girl twins at a the NT scan but then when I went for the anatomy scan at 16 weeks they were definitely two boys. Both appts were with the same MFM.

    A & K, married 7/1/13.

    After 10 months of ttc via medicated IUIs and two early losses, we finally got our boys- Perfect premie twins born 5/27/14.

    Thanks ladies.. Now I just don't know what to think! Was yesterday's tech wrong? Or was the MFM wrong? Two weeks until the next appointment. Definitely not buying anything or painting yet!

    I tend to trust an MFM over a tech but if the tech has tons of experience then she might be the expert in this case. Our MFM's ultrasound machine is SO much clearer than the OB's. However, as time passes the boy/girl parts become more visible and defined. Sounds like you can definitely buy boy stuff and gender neutral colors for now but wait a couple weeks till that next MFM appt to get any cute girly pink outfits.

    My OB stopped doing US and I only get them at the MFM and they send them over to the OB...I always ask...still a boy and a girl?  After 3 US where it was very clear...I feel pretty confident...normally the MFM folks are pretty good about sticking with the same baby until they finish, then moving to the second baby....

    Will be interesting to see how this turns out for you!

    It's kinda exciting that you have this little mystery! Congrats on healthy babies and get some name options ready just in case. Keep us posted!

    I had never believed that baby b was a girl. I asked every time, and finally at 32 week, my dh was like "it's a girl- they've checked every time!" I just kept dreaming of a b/g set. And as we all know, twin dreams are very scientific.
