A friend of mine suggested it to me. Apparently I'm only bad enough to commit a misdemeanor, not a big crime. Since I usually just use my real name I decided to just go for it.
What has surprised you most about parenthood so far?
I honestly wondered if I'd be able to do it at all. It just seemed like the hardest thing in the world (which it is) but it's also the best thing. My endless joy surprises me, I just can't get over how amazing my little guy is!
I'm also surprised at how much I care about poo. I actually texted my boyfriend at work to tell him LO finally had a nice big one. He was equally excited.
I used to be a "support and implementation specialist" for a travel reservation software company. Basically I configured software for new clients, and then trained the staff. But it involved a lot of travel, something I don't want to do anymore. So now I have to find a new career.
What's your biggest pet peeve?Stuck in quote box.... i have way too many... Loud yawning, misspelling of they're, there, their, the way my boyfriend picks at his finger/toe nails EEW
I love Canada Day, July 1st. It's just a fun holiday where we get together, usually have a BBQ or do something outdoors. There's no pressure with gifts, cooking, etc like other holidays. And Canada is an awesome country and deserves a yearly party.
If you were given $1000 what would you do with it?
I'm not going to say bills, although that's what I'd actually do with it. But if I had $1000 to burn, I'd buy some new clothes that actually fit, and some new makeup. Then plan a trip to take the train down to Portland for the weekend. I have a whole bunch of hotel points to use up, and I think some Amtrak ones too.
And I'd also buy a cream puff, because that sound good right now!
What is one experience/tradition that you can't wait to share with LO?
I can't wait to take him camping! We also have a house on a lake that we're currently renting out. Hopefully in a few years once I'm back at work we can afford to keep it for ourselves, and spend the summer there. I can't wait to take LO swimming, fishing, etc.
Short version: LO is Reece Henry. Both of our dad's names start with R, so I thought it would be nice to use that letter for our LO. My boyfriends middle name is Henry, after his grandfather.
Much Much Longer version: We were team green and right away picked Georgia for a girls name, and Parker for a boy. And then the end of January I decided they weren't right and stressed about it. I mentioned I liked Reece, and my boyfriend agreed. Except I meant for a boy, and he liked it for a girl. We tentatively agreed on it for either gender.
We never picked out a middle name though. When LO was born, right away I was like " he wants his name to be Henry", and my boyfriend looked at him and said Crap, I think you're right, both of us didn't like the name. He left the hospital without a name, although we agreed to see if Reece worked. And by the time we'd realized we needed to file the paperwork, we decided to just use Henry as a middle name.
What are you really good at?
What's your favourite physical feature about yourself?
What's your strength in a relationship?
I'm a great out of the box thinker, and I think I'm good at being able to see things for both sides.
I like my eyes, and that I have nice boobs. Also, I think this is interesting.... I'm 5'7 1/2' my feet are size 7 1/2', I'm a size 7, and my gat size is even 7 1/2. So obviously my lucky number is....5
My being able to see things from both sides helps. Although sometimes it takes me longer than other times to be willing to see it. And in all my relationships, not just with my boyfriend, I am great at keeping in touch, remembering special occasions and sending cards, and checking in with my friends and family when they have things going on.
If you could meet anyone dead or alive, who would you meet? What questions would you ask?
The Horse Whisperer, So I Married an Axe Murderer, Yes Man, Dirty Dancing, I name a few
I'd love to teach at the college level. And have summers off. I've also always wanted to work for the World Tourism Organization, which is part of the UN
Jesus? I'd just let him tell what what he wanted to though, you don't go nagging Jesus for answers
Do you believe in love at first sight? Why/ why not?
I believe in something at first sight... Attraction mixed with chemistry, mixed with the extra recognition that there's something special going on. But I'm not sure if that's love at first sight. Or if love at first sight is always something that is lasting, if it does exist.
What are your favorite things about your BF, physical and personality wise?
What is your go-to meal when having people over for dinner?
He has big arms, I love that. I love his desire to travel and see the world. And seeing him play with LO and talk to him in funny voices is pretty great.
Usually we have more people over in summer, so I can BBQ. And also, we still don't have a dining room table, so it's nicer to have people outside where there's plenty of seating. Otherwise, maybe just something easy like steak fajitas. I want to learn to cook fancier meals though.
Do you have tattoos? If so, what and where. Do they have special meaning and/or do you regret getting them?
I have a rose on my rib cage that I got when I was 19. A friend and I cut school to go get them. I actually would like a bigger tattoo in the same place, but I don't know if I'll ever do it.
How do you divide chores up between you and your BF?
How long have you and your BF been together and how did you meet?
I've always wanted to go to Fiji or somewhere with the overwater bungalow things. And I'd also love to go to Kenya and Tanzania.
We're very 50's. I do all indoors, he does outdoors. Except he takes the garbage out, and I do the gardening.
We've been together 7 years, with a one year break in there somewhere. We met at my best friends wedding. I was a bridesmaid, wearing a purple taffeta dress, and he is her cousin, who only came out of guilt because he was in town anyway. It was a very small wedding, and we were the only single ones there. And there was a lot of booze. I think you can all do the math. He was leaving for a 2 month trip to Thailand the next week, and it was going to Australua for work for 4 months, but we kept in touch.
Do you have strong political beliefs? Are you democrat, republican, or something else?
Lately, my only news source is The View. I tend to go the the BBC for my news, although my boyfriend watches the local and national, so I see those occasionally. I find local news gossipy, depressing, and filled with things I don't care about or are none of my business.
I'm Canadian, so we have different political parties in the country, and they also vary by province. I think I have pretty liberal views, but I don't vote for the Libs, I vote Green Party. I'm not sure if there is a Green Party in every province?
I don't have a stapler, this is something I always forget about, until I need one. In college I had a mini stapler, not a swing line. And it had purple staples.
I'm sorry if you mentioned this on another thread and I missed it, but where are you from/currently located? Or just province if you don't want to be too specific?
