How much are you paying for your pre-natals?

How much is everyone paying for your pre-natals. I am paying $80 a month (30 day supply). This particular vitamin includes Co-Q10 so it makes it a bit more expensive.... but still?! I am really peeved by how much it costs. Does my insurance suck that bad? How much is everyone else paying?

I am paying $5.50 for a 30 day supply. Im not sure exactly what is in them but it is what my doctor prescribed.

Whoah $10?! I didn't realize they could be so cheap! I think the ones I've been getting are around $30 for a 30 day supply. I don't remember to take mine most of the time though so still pretty cheap for me since a 30 day supply lasts me quite a bit longer than 30 days.... I even bought one of those old person pill boxes and still don't remember to take them most days.

$60 for 192 count. New chapter organics. Bit pricy but they are the only ones that don't make me sick an give me energy through out the day. An u can take the on an empty stomach which is a plus.

21 dollars for 150 pills, I buy them on Amazon but they are just generic ones you can get at the store. 1 pill has all the vitamins you need plus the DHA so I like it.

I am taking the Good Nature brand, OTC. I think it was on sale for like $16 for 180 count. My doctor never prescribed me pills either because I'm sure he knew that they were ridiculous in cost. I did get about 2 weeks worth of samples.

Um, about $3.50 for 30 days. I take OTC meds though. I asked my doc if I needed a script, and he said no. He said in order to be classified as a prenatal, they all must meet the same basic requirements. He even said I could just take flinstone vitamins IF these ones made me too sick.

Rx prenatals have 1 mg of folic acid, OTCs have 0.8 mg. Thats what the difference is. Which is why most docs say meh.

My doctor said that taking two Flintstones gummies a day was fine and that she would monitor my iron (I get super nauseous when I take any vitamin with iron in it, pregnant or not). I'm on my second giant bottle of those for the pregnancy, so maybe $30 total since I found out I was pregnant?

I take Vitafol-One and the prescription costs $35 for a 30 day supply with Aetna.

I REALLY like these vitamins because they are very small softgel capsules but have all the vitamins plus 200 mg of DHA not made from fish (algal?)....easy to swallow, no fish burps

PLUS, I have not had any trouble with constipation with this pregnancy and I thank these vitamins! My pharmacy ran out of them and I had to use over the counter prenatal for a few days and got immediately backed up. Terrible. Maybe it was unrelated, but I don't think so.

I love the code vitamins you can get them on amazon for $37/60 day supply then I take the da $14/30 day supply. They are a little pricier but I have felt great on them!

I am surprised by how many are taking Rx prenatals. I get OTC but fancy food-based ones with enzymes and probiotics and stuff (makes them easy to digest); 150 day supply for $19.

Edited the price from $25 because that didn't include my Amazon Subscribe & Save discount. Love that.

I take Trader Joe's $12 for 60 days. My midwife originally wrote me a prescription but my insurance wanted to charge me $70 for a 90 day supply and that was for generic!

I can't remember the exact cost. I'd say around $20 for a big bottle of 360 count. They're some generic OTC that I picked out about 2 months before I got pregnant. Still got quite a few left.

My prescription PNV are also $80/month. The folic acid is already broken down as my body doesn't do this efficiently.

I think I get 150/$30. I take the RainbowOne Prenatals. I have found those are easy on my stomach because they are natural and food/plant based not so many chemicals. I can literally take this vitamin on an empty stomach and not get sick as apposed the RX ones I paid a shit ton of money for last pregnancy.

I remember with DS, the dr prescribed something to me that was going to run close to $100 for a 30 day supply. My insurance doesn't cover prescriptions, so I said no to that and called the dr back. She told me the only difference was the amount of folic acid and that I could continue to take OTC prenatals and just add a folic acid pill. When I got pregnant with DD, I just started taking the same thing as last time. My new doctor never mentioned a prescription so I'm just taking the OTC's again.

I have a friend that works at a pharmacy. They had two bottles of some prenatals that they weren't going to be selling anymore. He brought those to me towards the end of my pregnancy with DS so I am still using those same bottles. As of now, the only out of pocket I am paying is for the folic acid that was just a few dollars and is more than enough for an entire pregnancy.

@mrscutforth, I do the Rainbow Light ones too; that is what I am getting from Amazon, the 150 ct for $19.

I pay about $22 for a month supply, but I went with organic prenatals. Then I also have an organic DHA pill that was I think $30 for 90 days worth. I have an iron pill as well, but that was literally like $5 for over 100 pills and I only take 1 per day. (I'm just weird and prefer as close to natural as I can get when it comes to vitamins...just a personal thing.)

My OB told me that they could write me a script, but a generic usually ends up being the same price as OTC, if not more expensive, AND you don't have to deal with the pharmacy, so to stick with that unless I had issues. She told me that to call themselves a prenatal they have to have a minimum amount of things in the vitamin, so they are all pretty much the same. If I went name brand on the script, then the price would probably be more than the organic ones I pay for now.

I paid about $10 for a huge ass bottle at target. I won't even finish it before this pregnancy is over....

I can't believe how much some of you are paying! My doctor never even mentioned a prescription.
