GTKY: what is one thing your mom (or mom figure) taught you that you hope to pass along to your child(ren)? What's the one thing you hope to emulate from your mom?
My mom and I are literally exact opposites, she is an artist and I am an engineer, our brains do not line up, this is a hard one for me. I guess I would have to say she taught me how to ski when I was 2 and I hope to teach LO the same
Upcoming Appointments: Monday growth scan, NST, fluid check
Symptoms: My feet are so swollen by the end of each day, I can't even bend my toes. I'll be buying some compression socks today.
Questions: None
GTKY: what is one thing your mom (or mom figure) taught you that you hope to pass along to your child(ren)? What's the one thing you hope to emulate from your mom? My mom is very generous and I hope to be the same way.
Upcoming Appointments:
Ob in 3 weeks

Fatigue, memory loss, body aches.
Questions:
What happens if you go into labor before you get checked for GBS??
GTKY: what is one thing your mom (or mom figure) taught you that you hope to pass along to your child(ren)? What's the one thing you hope to emulate from your mom?
Not to judge people no matter how they look, act, or behave. I hope I can instill the morals of being a good person and going over and beyond for people if they need it like my mom did for me. Even things like opening doors or picking something up for someone.. My husband does not do this and it drives me crazy!!
I don't mean to come off like I don't appreciate or love my mom for everything she has done for me, we are just so different in every way, sometimes it is hard for us the relate to one another.
Upcoming Appointments: Pre-registering at the hospital and taking a tour of Labor & Delivery on Monday and Physical Therapy on Tuesday and Friday. Busy week!
Symptoms: Burning sensation under my ribs and very bad pain on the upper right side of my belly...it's gotten to the point where whenever she touches that area, I jump back in pain. Pretty sure my ribs are bruised or something. Ugh...
Questions: Why is it May 11th and its freakin' snowing outside. [-X
GTKY: This one is hard since my mom wasn't necessarily a great mom when my brother and I were growing up...but she's really come around since I've gotten pregnant and I'm thankful for that at least
Upcoming Appointments: I have weekly appointments starting tomorrow to check amniotic fluid levels. (With my first pregnancy DD had stopped moving so I went in to be checked and they found I had pretty much zero amniotic fluid left and was sent straight to L&D for induction. Keeping an eye on it this time around.)
Symptoms: I hit the discomfort zone full on this last week. My hips and back are giving me plenty of random shooting pains and the waddle while walking is getting pretty bad, lol.
Questions: My biggest question no one can answer, but will breastfeeding work this time? It was a giant fail with DD (saw multiple lactation consultants almost daily for weeks after she was born, tried every shield, SNS, and trick in the book but she just refused). I don't think I could EP for 11 months again, and failing at BF is pretty much my #1 fear this time around.
One thing I learned or want to pass on from my mom: I always knew my mom loved me with all her heart. I never doubted it for a second and I hope my kids will always be confident in my love for them no matter who they are or what they do.
IF, 5 losses, 1 son, 1 on the way.
I will say I would rather have snow than have 90 degrees but I think that is because we just moved from Alaska
My next appointment is on Tuesday.
I've had a lot of BHs with a few odd contractions thrown in the mix. My hips are the worst offenders, I feel like my legs are going to fall out of the sockets! It's worst at night, when I want to sleep.
I haven't had too many questions, DD is 21 months (today!) so I think I remember most of the answers. I am kind of nervous about not realizing I'm in labor but I'm sure I'll have plenty of time.
My Mom is a wonderful example to me of making the best of hard situations. She is loving and kind and I love her a lot!
Baby class Wednesday and midwife check up Friday
I'm feeling like hammered shit (as the saying goes). The exhaustion is back, the moods are all over the place, and everything hurts.... Thank god not much longer
No questions really, other than "when will the misery end?!!" Lol
My mom and I were super close when I was growing up. I learned that life will continue to throw shit in your face... You can either succumb to it, or learn from it. I hope I can give my child everything I never had, but I also want her to have a level head and sense of community. I also want her to know that I love her more than anything thing... And will always make sure she's taken care of.
35 weeks - coconut (which to me seems like our fruit shrunk this week...)
Upcoming Appointments:
NST Monday and Thursday
GD appt Thursday
Symptoms:
Achy, swollen, tired
Questions:
I'm with you all wondering what this whole labor/delivery will be like... And I'm ready to be done
GTKY: what is one thing your mom (or mom figure) taught you that you hope to pass along to your child(ren)? What's the one thing you hope to emulate from your mom?
Well... My mom and I weren't ever close growing up, although our relationship is getting better now. But there are more things I learned I won't do than do... Probably the biggest being you can't buy your child's love. Spend time with them instead of buying gifts trying to make up for it.
Upcoming Appointments: Thursday, weekly appointments now
Symptoms: Not many, feeling good, I'm just tired and winded pretty easily. Baby isn't moving a whole lot, but my NST this week showed that she was fine so I'm trying not to worry too much.
Questions: nope
GTKY: what is one thing your mom (or mom figure) taught you that you hope to pass along to your child(ren)? What's the one thing you hope to emulate from your mom? My mom is very selfless and giving. She's also very empathetic and caring, and I hope to be able to instill that kind of thinking beyond themselves on to my children.
