Wonder weeks app

I downloaded the wonder weeks app to understand the various leaps that DS will be going through so that I can anticipate fussy times. My question is that DS was born on 3/27 and his EDD was 4/2 and the app says that for premies you should use EDD not the actual birthday when assessing the leaps and cycle.

I don't consider DS a premie and think it's ok to use the birthday because of it being less than a week away from EDD.

Has anyone used this and what do you think?

I'm using it and went with the EDD even though she was a week late.

    This is from their website:
To calculate the leaps you have to enter the due date. Also with preemies and twins. The timing of the mental development of a baby is linked to the age since conception and not to the age since birth. Therefore, to know when your baby is making a leap, you have to fill in the due date, and not the date of birth. Look at it this way: the brain of a baby that is born three weeks early is not as far developed as the brain of a full term baby. The brain develops, in and outside the whomb. This is why we calculate with the due date.
  • I used the due date as per the instructions.

  • There are soooo many things like that on it. English is definitely not their first language. I used edd.

  • Omg changing from birthday to EDD made a huge difference!! Probably because he was 3 weeks overdue. He's definitely leapin...

DD was 2.5 weeks early but the app seems to be true to her birthday and not EDD. Don't know if this makes me a special snowflake or just throws me into the "moms who think their babies are more advanced than they actually are" category.

Yeah, my daughter was 4 weeks early and I feel like she has already passed the first "leap" which the app days won't happen for another 16 days...

Ditto. My DS was also 4 weeks early (almost 9 weeks old now) and I think we are in the second leap. He was doing the leap one stuff weeks ago. Or maybe I'm just crazy. Who knows.

  • My LO was just two days early but has shown signs that he's been going through the first leap a week early, IMHO.
