So our LO has been head down this whole time up until 2 weeks ago when he flip and now is a frank breech baby. My DH and I went to meet with the Dr today and she was looking at the u/s report and me and said that she believes that I would have a very successful version and our LO looks healthy. She wants to do it in my 37th week when its considered full term and the best time to move baby if needed. She explained that baby would be hooked up to a fetal heart monitor and they would check if I was having contractions and if so then give me medication to relax the cervix, do an u/s to confirm he is still breech, then start to move him. If successful then they would hook me back up to the fetal heart monitor to watch him and if all was well i'd go home. It is being done in the hospital so that if anything goes wrong then I am whisked away upstairs to c-section. The Dr said that there is very minimal risk to baby or myself and if any of those risk happen I am in the hospital where he can be delivered and that he is healthy enough and his lungs look great that he would leave to go home with me, so that made me feel a little better.
What I want to know is have any moms gone through this or has their dr talked to them about it?
I'm nervous about all the discomfort I will be in, but I am willing to try anything to not have surgery, but if in the end that's what it comes to then that's okay, but I want to know that I at least tried...

She told me
50/50 chance of working
If it did work could flip back.
Would be done in the hospital and I would be given an epideral
Your water could break
You could go into labor
Or they have to send you for a c section
Hubby and I both agreed this is not something we want to do. For us just too many reisk factors. My little one is head up facing me.
I figure she has been breech this entire time maybe there is a reason she is like that. I was breech too when I was born.
There are other things acupuncture spinning babies chiropractor Webster method.
Honestly I was going to look into acupuncture but decides not too.
I will find out next thurs at 35 weeks if she is still breech. If so we will schedule a c section for the week before I am due.
I did not want a c section at all but have come to terms with probably having one.
I personally do not want them to manually turn her. I just feel more stress on me and baby to possibly having a c section anyway.
You have to so what feels right for you and hubby. For us this is just not an option.
If you do decide to do it please let us know how you make out.
Good luck!!!

We went for ECV yesterday at 38 weeks 2 days. After doing an in depth ultrasound to determine if I was a candidate, they told us that my fluid level was good, placenta in good position and overall a good candidate other than it being a first pregnancy.
I was given an injection of terbutaline (muscle relaxer to relax the uterus), they did not use a spinal, and the doctor applied warm oil to my belly to make it easier to turn baby. After 4 attempts to turn our stubborn little girl, the doctor said she could not rotate her anymore. They had her half way turned but was meeting a lot of resistance so they stopped. We had to stay and be monitored for 2 hours after the procedure and before we left baby girl was back in her usual spot (head up, but down, legs to the left of my belly)!
Although it was very painful while they were attempting to turn her, it was only for a minute or two with each attempt. I think that it is easier for me to come to terms with having a c-section now, knowing that we did every thing possible to avoid it. C-section scheduled for Wednesday May 28th! Hope this helps someone else in trying to decide!
