@MrsGiantPenis try to get rid if that headache and get some rest.
My FFFC: I have my son going for a sleepover tonight and one of my daughters friends coming here for a sleepover. I'm kind of happy for the break from my son. I love him, he's great, but he's been driving me nuts lately, so I look forward to a night off!! Having a friend over off my daughter is like a break too, they go up to her room and I don't see them until they're hungry.
And I ordered myself a ring for Mother's Day, my birthday was a bust this year so I took this one upon myself!!!
I'm almost embarrassed to confess this but I can never remember what the signs < and > stand for. So whenever you guys start arguing what's better, I have to google the sign to see who I agree with.
I'm sure someone already said this... But think of it like a mouth that wants to eat the better thing
@Asbromle I never believed you were OAD . @Dccornel sorry about your H being an ass again, it sounds like you don't get much support from him >:D<

@mamasighs Thanks. And I feel the same way about Mother's day. I want dh to do something amazing without me having to tell him, but I know he won't, so I just told him to do something. Anything. I hope your dh figures it out this year!
This. I told DH last night that it was important to me that he do something for Mother's Day. Nothing fancy or expensive, just something with him and DD. Hopefully that's clear enough.
@maryannespier there is a delivery service here that brings cookie dough or fresh hot cookies, even late at night. We should plant the seed for them to branch out to donuts as well.

WHAT!? How did I not know this?
@Meimsx Dough to Door. Based in the Loop, catering to college kids. I believe they're open until 2am, but I don't think they deliver very far (
FKA mimi4347: diaper rash magician and unofficial expert on excrement
This kid may not have a lot of bowel, but he has plenty of guts! DS born at 34 weeks with (surprise!) gastroschisis turned short bowel syndrome. 131 days in the NICU, 7 trips to the OR, G-button, daily TPN....
We are impatiently awaiting the day we can say goodbye to his girlfriend Ivy for good.
@ncchnat take the sitter and the baby to the place you're going to dance
@mimi4347 we had one of those places in college (can't remember what it was called) and it was amazing! They also delivered brownies and Ben & Jerry's!
@ncchnat not a bad mama, you deserve a break every now and then!

As a child/teen I used to confuse the words crudités and coup d'etat.
I don't even know how to pronounce those words...
French pronounications are quite weird, so don't worry about it.
They're just fancy words for veggie tray and government overthrow.
-----------------------
I had to take French, and actually used to be pretty fluent. We have special government funded exchange programs where you go to Quebec for a summer and speak nothing but French (like Les Quebecois speak actual French, haha).
And yet still how the word hors d'oeuvres = "orderves" completely escapes me. When I see it, I pronounce it "horrs-de-oooovres" in my head before using the correct pronunciation.
Also, they'll be jealous when I have room to carry all my stuff and still have 2 hands. One day they'll understand what it's like to not have that ability all the time
Another FFFC: Leaving your baby at the hospital is one of the worst feelings ever, and people saying "oh, well at least you get to sleep!" is pretty much cold and heartless and completely misses the point of everything.
But - I'm worried that even after all the extra stuff we've gone through, I won't be able to handle the reality of newborn sleeplessness if we have another. I can hook up an IV like a pro and change a tiny ostomy bag better than most experts, and I have a much thicker skin than I should when it comes to cuddling my baby through things that make us both want to cry, but I have never had to go for weeks without sleep and I'm worried that if I had to be a normal mom I couldn't do it.
Dude. As if you got any good sleep going through what you did. You'll be a champ.
I'm irrational in my expectations for Mother's Day. I'm not a present/birthday/anniversary type but this day I want H to go all out without me explaining what I want him to do. I just want him to know and plan something amazing. I feel silly explaining this to him so I never have. So every year I'm predictably disappointed because he's not a mind reader. So unfair. And weird.
Anyone up for an SO phone number exchange? We could all randomly text each other's SOs and tell them to get on the ball for mother's day! Amesy wants mom jewelry! (Entitled much?)
@llmg0715 I pumped 1 oz a day in 50 minutes of pumping for longer than I should admit. And not a ton of nursing mixed in there. I wanted to make it to a year so badly. I would still probably be pumping my one oz if it weren't for thrush.
On the French stuff... There's a French bakery here that's amazing but full of pretentious a-holes. Whenever I order a croissant, they always correct me, "oh you want a 'kwaa-san'". Dude, it's Sacramento and you're wearing 49er hoodie. It's croissant today. Next time I'm chilling in Paris, I'll hook it up. Fffc: at the park yesterday, I pushed my 3 yo too hard on the swing and he fell off. Scared me to death. I must have looked like a complete loon. I had the twins in the baby swigs, and my 3 and 5 yo on big kid swings. We had just taken over and the push I gave him was the first one. I wanted it to last, so I could push everyone else. He fell when the swing came back down as it went back, so at the lowest point. It took over 20 mins to get everyone there (and we live across the street from park) and we instantly had to leave. Then I spent the rest of the day checking him for a concussion and breaks. Damn it.
Food is not just for fun under one in my house. Food is a necessity. James has 3 huge meals a day and if I skipped one I would never hear the end of it. Hungry little dude.
I find it incredibly satisfying when I get an eye crusty off my eye. Like you don't realize your eye hurts until it's gone but then the crusty is gone and there's no more pain and it's awesome. I'm weird.
