Decor help

Help me decide what to do with our living room. I would like to have vertical shelving like the ikea expidit or taller bookshelves on both sides of the tv but I'm not sure. We always have some kind of activity table and if we have a baby, we will need a swing or something. Will that all fit? Does anyone have any suggestions for both toy storage and some pretty decorations?

    I will try and upload a picture but we were in the same boat...we ended up going with the Liatorp sideboard and 2 bookshelves from Ikea.  Our TV was mounted on the wall so our options were limited but it ended up working out perfectly.  Everyone compliments us on the piece and it looks like it's from pottery barn! The bottom shelves of each bookcase we put some of DS's toys in baskets I got from Target.

    I think IKEA doesn't have the expedit anymore.
    The activity table could maybe be one of those coffee tables/ottomans that has a lid and storage space, that way you can store the toys inside and take them out on the top if the table when you want to play.
    And the swing/bouncer could go in front of the window.

    Please update when you have it all together, would love to see what you come up with!

    Ikea replaced expidit with a cheaper looking thing that looks similar. I think a bookshelf might look just as good. Expidit is just what I had pictured for so long! ! Great idea with an activity table that doubles as an Ottoman!

    I was at Ikea about a month ago and they still had the expedit bookcases but they were on clearance.  We used the expedit shelves in a small room off of my kitchen that we converted into a playroom.  It's a mess right now but this is what it looks like.  image

    That looks so good! I wish we had space for something like that. I hope they are still on clearance when we go at the end of the month!

    They also have the shelves that can go over the top of the TV to get you a little more storage space.

    One of these years I'll be able to get back there for another Hemnes shelf so I can do a little rearrangement of furniture...

    We are planning on keeping the tv stand we have now, do I need to get dark brown shelving to match? Could I go with like a darker gray? I like the consistency of KellyR's white and if I went with the same color pieces I'd be dusting every other day.
