FFFC: I got some beers for while we "watched the draft," only I couldn't care less so while DH watched the draft I filled out Luke's baby book while occasionally popping in to mock Johnny Football. I knew DH would fall asleep on the couch, so I stashed some extra beers so I could do some midnight bumping.

Also I learned how to gif so I could put the puppies in my siggy but promptly forgot, so I spent about 15 min re-learning how to gif just so I could post FFFC way too early $:\$ ">

Bonham's confession:

Every night I clean the floor under the high chair. Cheerios, yogurt, bananas....I am the best vacuum ever.

Tonight it wasn't baby food. It was baby poop.

It was delicious. I regret nothing.

Another FFFC: Leaving your baby at the hospital is one of the worst feelings ever, and people saying "oh, well at least you get to sleep!" is pretty much cold and heartless and completely misses the point of everything.

But - I'm worried that even after all the extra stuff we've gone through, I won't be able to handle the reality of newborn sleeplessness if we have another. I can hook up an IV like a pro and change a tiny ostomy bag better than most experts, and I have a much thicker skin than I should when it comes to cuddling my baby through things that make us both want to cry, but I have never had to go for weeks without sleep and I'm worried that if I had to be a normal mom I couldn't do it.

@maryannespier there is a delivery service here that brings cookie dough or fresh hot cookies, even late at night. We should plant the seed for them to branch out to donuts as well.

Eating has been hard for me lately (appetite left me for some reason)... I usually eat out of necessity and just choke something down.

Today lunch was pork and beans.

Way back in November, at my first moms' group, a lady made a beeline for me and asked to exchange numbers. Well, it's May now, and the three times since November I casually reached out she blew me off.

It's like a rejection for a date, isn't it? I find myself irrationally upset (SHE wanted MY number *poutyface*) and glad every time I'm at another mom group meeting and she's not there.

My parents have a relatively small garden (ca. 2500sqf) and managed to plant yummy stuff in bind-boggling amounts (blueberries, yellow and red rasberries, currants, cherries, plums, pears, gooseberries...shall I go on?), but they're not ripe yet.

1) Will the stomachache be worth it to try them now anyway?

2) Is it awfully calculating of me to time next year's visit to coincide with fruity deliciousness?

@mimi4347‌, your dog is adorable, even if a poop eater. And you will absolutely be able to handle the traditional newborn stage. You think you need sleep, and then you just somehow manage. Or maybe you'll win the baby sleep lottery and have a kid who sleeps well pretty early on. They tell me it can happen.

My FFFC is that I have been having a really hard time giving up the bf calories. I ate a ridiculous amount of food to try to keep my supply up and lost a ton of weight, but now I gain a pound if I even look at a burger. I have started tracking my calories and doing c25k, but I was enjoying the fact that any exercise dropped my already poor supply, so I had a built in excuse to be lazy.

Also, in the two weeks since I last nursed, my kid hasn't tried latching one once. While it would probably break my heart if he did try latching on, it also breaks my heart that he hasn't even tried. It's like he doesn't miss it at all.

So it looks like my kid is in the early stages of being sick. We are supposed to be heading for the tiny little cottage in a couple of hours. ILs will be there with us for 5 days.
I am contemplating playing the sick baby card to stay home and send mh up. Even with a sick babe, having the house to myself for five days sounds like heaven. I probably won't but am sure l will regret it later!

My parents have been watching e while I run a few errands here and there. Well yesterday I had to go get a tire fixed so I told them it would probably take 1-2hours. They were in a bit of a rush to do some of their errands so I knew I should be back ASAP. Guys, I went to target, stopped for coffee, went to get my tire done, then got my nails done and was out more than 4 hours. I told my parents the wait was long. What makes it worse is that this is the second time this week I've done something like this. Oops.

@mimi4347, you will be able to handle it! I was in the same position as you and terrified of having a newb at home when I was pregnant with Gavin. I was worried that I'd have no clue how to handle it, worried about c section recovery with a newb, etc. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, and it ends up just clicking...you will do an awesome job next time around too!

@MRads‌ I totally know what you mean about using bfing as an excuse for calorie eating. I've been done nursing for a few weeks too and miss being able to eat more. Also Eli hasn't tried latching or going for the boob in any way and I'm also sad that he doesn't seem to miss it at all.

@mimi4347‌ you would do awesome at the no sleep newborn stuff. Hugs!

I thought we were OAD and then last night my SO whispered to me that if I want to have another baby we can.

Damn him.

Now I'm all conflicted. Maybe I will have another baby in a couple years after all...

This is a FFFC because I cried out of happiness and then was surprised at how happy I was about maybe having another baby when I thought Haddy was "enough".

Oh, and I'm going to a beer festival on Saturday and getting shwasty pants with all my good friends

I've really been wanting a new purse. I used Mother's Day as an excuse to order it last week, I told DH this morning. He was so relieved because he said he wasn't planning on doing anything for me because he didn't have a clue of what to do. I'm irrationally pissed about this. :-/

My kid had a pretty high fever when I brought him home from DC yesterday. After stripping him down and taking off his helmet, it had gone down to a low grade fever within the hour. If he had a fever over 100.5, I was going to keep him home and take off work. I was more disappointed than I probably should have been that his temp was 98.6. Who wishes their kid to be sick?

Ftr, it's a teething fever, not a sick fever.

I'm almost embarrassed to confess this but I can never remember what the signs < and > stand for. So whenever you guys start arguing what's better, I have to google the sign to see who I agree with.

@skleigh I would be hurt too. And mad. He'd be sleeping on the couch, with the baby monitor, while I slept. For days!

@mimi4347 You would be awesome with newborn sleeping (or not sleeping). What you have handled is so much harder than the lack of sleep, especially in the beginning.

My FFFC: I just screamed at my mom on the phone. I just can't handle the "divorce/no divorce" crap anymore. And I'm so tired of being put in the middle and neither of them caring about how I'm doing. And I'm so sick of her complaining about my dad, but not having a spine and continuing to allow him to walk all over her. But I still can't believe I just yelled at her...for a loooooong time too.

@mamasighs Thanks. And I feel the same way about Mother's day. I want dh to do something amazing without me having to tell him, but I know he won't, so I just told him to do something. Anything. I hope your dh figures it out this year!

DH was traveling back home yesterday and told me that everyone is mothers day shopping at the airport. He was not. I asked if he was getting me anything. He said no. I told him it is ok since I have been shopping all week for myself.

I'm so sorry. My parents went through a divorce recently too and it's so hard because no matter how great of people they are or aren't, somehow they always manage to put kids in the middle.

Harper decided she wanted a 4am party. She got to go back down for a nap before we left for the day, I did not. So tired that I forgot I had coffee on my desk because it was hiding behind my computer screen. Who does that?
